What are the ways to help you sleep at night. Do you go to sleep at the same time? Certain bed sheets? A nice candle fragrance? Any ritual you like to help fall asleep.

I take melatonin, otherwise I just toss and turn too much. I have a
comfy bed and I just go right off to dreamland. I have to set my alarm on the weekends, otherwise Iād sleep until the afternoon lol. |

I'm a huge racing fan /car guy... but for some reason if I put on a race I've watched before I'm dreaming of fast cars usually before the first yellow flag.

I've tried melatonin. It doesn't work for me.

Race cars. My mind will race all night in circles.

I get better sleep when the bedroom is a cooler temperature.

I let the Kendell app read me to sleep.

I like flannel sheets in the winter time. So do I. I take half a sleeping pill at this stage of my life. Zopiclone to be precise... |

I'm always lifting extremely heavy stuff most of the day, so it tires me out, but having a deviated septum (broken nose) will keep me awake unless I use breathe-right strips, Then I can sleep.... but...
sometimes it's so quiet here in the desert that the slightest noise will jar me awake, so I turn on my air purifier which has a constant sound.... If I still can't sleep, I'll read something boring. Also, I sleep on a memory foam mattress which alleviates pressure points. Walmart, $130 worth every cent. Regular ones springs, poked me in the ribs. |

I have night meds I have to take but still I have things I do.
Complete darkness Hug a pillow (my arms hurt)...it helps. I usually drift off while exploring the Universe at the speed of thought. I also sometimes invent impossible things or imagine complex alien biospheres. I try to eat something light about 2 hours before I go to bed. I try not to drink anything except some water 2 hours before bed. When I was working I used to flex each muscle group over and over a lil less each time, especially my hands and feet. That always worked. |

I go to bed, lay down, and sleep.
Of late I have been listening to a recording I made with affirmations I want to get into my subconscious. My room has to be dark, but since my bad dizzy spell (whole room turning round me) last year I leave the light on my night stand on until I'm about to really doze off. I don't need anything to sleep. I just semi pass out when I see my pillow. |

When I go to bed at night, I have to be really tired. I don't like the idea of trying to sleep and it's not happening. I turn on the radio, and a lot of people may say that it's not good to do that, but it helps me.

Technically, if you don't have a (diagnosed) issue with serotonine & melatonine there's not reason why you shouldn't fall asleep. I do always find it helpful to not be too active later at night. Including with online activities, which usually means reading. That keeps the brain active. As does the bright light of a monitor. So I spend the last part of the evening only watching series/movies which allows my brain to slow down. There's nice panflute meditation music to be found on YouTube. I always love that, use it as background when I'm recording meditations etc. Maybe that's a good alternative to radio? There's one that lasts over 2 hours so ample time to fall asleep. |

I have listened to instrumental or classical music at night. I have used some lavender scent on my night stand next to my bed. That is thought to be a relaxing scent.
