Yes I feel it's just a matter of two.
1.fix your words.
2.prove yourself

Absolutely not.

Trust is built up over time.

Yes, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with words and proving yourself.
Words can be fake and superficial, proving yourself takes time, plus, what do you have to prove if you haven't done anything (wrong)???

It has to do with the depth and purity of the connection. And with some people this is instant. I've been there.
It means YOU got to be connected to your intuition, then you rarely go wrong.

In very rare instances, trust can be
immediate, and last a lifetime.

In most circumstances, trust is
built over a period of time.

On the flipside...

Trust can be lost over a period
of time.

Or, it can be lost instantly.

Can trust be built in a day

Trust isn't an absolute; on or off, there or not.

So it depends on what kind of "trust" you're asking for.

Huge difference between "I trust you. Of course I'll let you stay alone with my child for a month," and, "I trust he'll call me when he said he will."

A dog might trust you in day, or a gullible human.

Even after years, a trusted friend can change.
