I don't try to be happy all the time, that's unnatural. Emotions rise and fall and I've learned not to hang onto them. It causes problems if you try. I am content most of the time. My emotional states rise and fall naturally. Living in contentment allows me to appreciate the emotions I do feel. Think of it as a wave. Centerline is contentment. Top peak is utter joy. Bottom valley is utter depression. Life has emotional peaks and valleys. If you centerline at the peak of joy, everything is a valley. It distorts your contentment. As I gain more control of my emotions my range of contentment widens. Things don't stress me out like they used to. I still feel anger and depression but they don't stick anymore. I still feel joy but it has a brighter shine.

Can't make them yet, have a couple of things from in the past that I need to finish up before I can look at a new direction. Hope to have those mostly resolved by fall. I expect another difficult summer.
