Lots more work done since I posted this. It's really coming to life now that I've done the highlights and shadows on their faces and bodies :D
I will have to rework his hand, not happy with it.

Her clothes are as good as done. There's a lot of pure orange in her skirt that the camera doesn't pick up on.

And I've started the saddle and tack to the left.

Another update, lot more work done.
I had to completely redo the saddle as the reference wasn't correct. So that was a lot of work.
Because of that I have to rework the area around it a bit more, but for that it has to be 100% dry.
The saddle is darker brown with a whole lot of red in it so I will make the wall lighter with more ochre.

His jeans & shirt are as good as done, have highlights too which makes a helluva difference!
Both have reflections of the lamp light on their hair which also add to it all.

Reflection on the beam behind the lantern, highlights on the horse etc.

I mustn't forget to make hinges on the door as it's still floating in the air 🤭 But I'm not done with it anyways

I finished the other one, started my 12th cowboy & horse painting two days ago :)

This time something else will be the main focal point, but there is going to be a cowboy on a horse for sure!
