Hope to see more Avalon/Druid paintings. Hi Stormy! Who knows... |

After a few weeks of not painting due to ear infection making me feeling under the weather I made a new piece.
It's a small one, 20x20cm. I bought a number of those canvasses a while back with the idea to paint a symbol of each of my chakras on 'em. That hasn't happened of yet except for the Sacral chakra, but I actually quite enjoy them! Anyways, this is what I've made today :) I'm happy with it, although I will re-do my signature tomorrow as I'm not chuffed about that. |

Obviously not done yet but had a lot of fun experimenting with my new brushes!
When I continue I will have to correct the perspective of the windows of the ground floor. But it does give an indication :) |

A couple of sessions further, a helluva lot more work done, much with just a liner brush for fine detail.
Obviously not finished yet. |

Not painted more yet as I had some work to do outdoors when the weather picked up and then I got too ill from the ear infection. |

I can't believe how different the trees make it look... ....
Just makes you realise how beautiful and green the world we live in is... |

Indeed!
I've always spent quite some time in nature, as a child mostly with my dad. Painting made me look at trees and plants in yet another way. Especially when I was learning from watching Bob Ross' tv shows. He too loved nature and the way he talked about it, not seeing masses of green, but looking at each and every individual bush, tree, branch etc. etc., not to mention the various colours. Normally I just use sap green and mixture of that with yellow and/or white for highlights. Meaning there's little variation, all are always warm greens while in real life there's also cool greens that are more bluish. I never gave that much thought. To me greenery in a painting was usually just a backdrop for something that I found far more interesting to focus on. In this one I went about it differently. In this scenery I did use a ton of different greens. Unfortunately you cannot tell from a photo, although it may add to the overall impression. |

I finished the thatched cottage painting yesterday!
I'm very happy with it. It's been a lot of work, I had a lot of fun experimenting with this new way of painting, and I learnt a lot! Colours of the photo don't do it justice but with my Xiaomi this is what I get. |

Thank you so much, Di!
I'm really chuffed with it myself, hihi. I had it hanging up when it wasn't even finished as I was dusting & cleaning and needed it out of the way. Later on I saw it and that was like seeing it for the first time, me thinking, "Bl**dy 'ell! I love it!" I'm still thinking where I can hang it and I seriously don't know, hihi. It's reached the stage that I'd need to have another wall in my home hahaha. |
