When I was around 8 or 9 years old, my brothers were watching Python, as I did. That was probably not something I should have watched at that time.

British humor
It's said that often irony goes over Americans heads
Plus a lot of their humour tends to be what they call 'a roast' , which can be a bit mean
And whilst they do that, they don't get gallows humour often

I am currently enjoying the reruns of 'Friends', it never ceases to make me laugh, same with 'Red Dwarf' whenever I watch an episode of either one they always have me laughing, both are an amazing series of shows, timeless humour in my opinion.

Since I speak sarcasm British humour does it for me ... Fawlty Towers , Yes Minister , are You being Served , Mr Bean , Two Ronnie's come to mind !
Stand ups Jerry Seinfeld, Trevor Noah , Danny Bouy, Russel Peters and Nickie Glasser are my favourite !!
Humour is humor ... as long as it's funny ...and you get to laugh and lower your blood pressure !!!

'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! Its metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

I've read this whole thread, I'm glad it was bumped again.

I had thought American originally but now I've changed my mind for these reasons. All these are older, but streamable I believe.

"Are you being served?" was mentioned, about a dept store & the workers. It deserves a remention. It's good.

"IT Crowd" my favorite. IT geeks for an office. No fake sound track needed for this one. I'm pretty sure I've belly laughed.

"Keeping up appearances", a family always trying to look successful, but failing hilariously.

"Mr Bean" no words needs, he's brilliant.

Stand up, there will always be only one for me, he was American, "George Carlin"❤

Yup !! You absolutely right about those shows you mentioned ... they still funny even today !!
George Carlin is in a class by himself ... most intelligent comedian in my book ...
