Next time try pouring some into a bowl first & putting the rest away.

Ofc you can still go get more and end up eating the whole bag...just makes it harder to do.

That's what I'm about to do too, although not directly in the garden but the garage. Although I will remove my Buddha from the garden and put it indoors. But also planning to remove some precious things from the garage, like my Quan Yin statue. Unique, expensive, came from the UK, and I'm very attached to it.
And the lawnmower, stuff like that. Unfortunately I cannot put everything in the brick shed, which is tiny.
But wind gusts of 140kms/per hour... I believe there's not a Beaufort measurement for that anymore. It's way over 12Bft, and the worst I got here is 10-11, which already was BAD.

Fingers crossed for everyone that we all are going to be fine, including our homes and stuff.

Yes, hopefully nothing will be damaged. For me, it all depends on which direction the wind is coming from. If it comes from the West, then there's a sheer sandstone cliff that's at least twice as tall as the houses, just behind me.

Up here it'd be SSW when it's at its worst, then later on shift to W and remain there until Wednesday even which is the first it will quiet down a bit. We're facing a few days of 7Bft, which usually comes down to 8.

For me normally speaking SSW or SWS is the best, but with gusts like this I fear for the garage.
The more SW the better, then it hits more diagonally than full on, so the worst would almost blow past. In that case I think my stuff will be fine.

So far done with the main storm preparation. Most stuff I really need or want to have is out of the garage, gates have 2 ratchet belts around them. Not much more I can do.

Tomorrow I will close off the gaps of the sliding door. With storm winds from the W it'll blow right through. And then that's it.

My girl's car broke down, she won't go to work Monday, possibly not Tuesday either cos we have these long & high bridges connecting the islands. It will still be Bft7-8 then and no buses will cross that bridge, not allowed.
I'm happy in a way, cos even with a normal car it isn't pleasant to cross it with those winds. It is unfortunate her car broke down, but at least she'll be safe!

Yes,I can imagine that it must be something of a relief, given the expected weather.
