The earliest I can remember is being about 3 and poking my finger through a fence and getting it bitten by a goose.

My earliest childhood memories are rather traumatic, I seem to have blocked out most of it under the age of seven. But I do remember going to my grandparents house and running around the big house they had. It was like a huge circle going from the kitchen to the living room. My grandfather used to call me ruff house rosie, so I guess I was a little rambunctious, though that part I don't remember, haha.

I think also 3 or 4-ish.
Triggered by Cosmic: One is going to a small zoo with my family, monkey close to the entry. A girl putting her hand or finger through the fence and getting bitten. I've had a thing against monkeys ever since, hihi.

The other is being able to cycle at a real young age. Real proud of it, showing off to my girlfriend. But I couldn't break, so I had to cycle up against a shed or something in order to stop, haha. And then be real careful to not fall over... And prolly feel a wee bit stupid for having to do that after showing off.

It is what it is, but thanks :)

Yes, hard to imagine me being rambunctious, lol.

Actually Crystal's post triggered another memory. Also at my grandparents. I got a brand new bike, with a banana seat. Really cool and fashionable back then. I was showing off too, but fell on my butt because I turned to quick when I put on the brakes, haha. Pretty funny now, but definitely embarrassing then. I was 7 years old.

I was 2 1/2 years old.
My father was pushing my older sister and myself in our red wagon,
across a busy street in downtown Oakland, CA, then down
to the bank.

When we went downhill they made me sit in the back but when we went
uphill I had to sit in the front.

I did not like that.
I threw a fit ;-)

The earliest memory I have is, believe it or not, is when I started school at 5 years old. I remember the classroom very well. I remember my teacher very well. We would sit on the floor and she would teach us songs to sing. That's weird, my first memory has nothing to do with my family.

I remember still being on the boob. And the first time I got cold water in my bottle instead of milk.
Probably as a 6 months old baby, in summer time, in a crib or stroller.
At first I thought 'what a rip off - no milk, what's this awful stuff', and I thought it must be safe to drink, since mum gave it to me, then I appreciated the non-gluggy non-yoghurtyness of it cooling me on a hot summer day.
So chlorinated water is the second thing I can remember tasting.

Nobody believes me (I don't care) but I remember being inside my mother.
I remember trying to push the walls out.
I also remember the sensations of birth, the cold and bright lights.
Thing is, they are not really memories, more like experiences of sensations.

I think everyone can remember before being born and the process of being born but they hide themselves from those sensations, dismissing them as something else.

I remember being an infant and screaming because I was scared and hungry.
My parents had no bassinet. They put me in a dresser drawer (my older sister confirms this) and I remember being in that closed drawer, screaming so hard it hurt then the relief of the 'rescue' from my mother.

lol. I remember learning to ride a bike. I used a hedge to stop. Singing nettles and all.
