Pretty much I recon. but mostly holidays, travel etc. they've probably spent a lot of time up to then doing a lot of homely stuff, or work. Or both.

You know what dementia is. you know when the brain deteriorates.
Usually doesn't happen till much older .

Seems like it would kinda depend on the life they led before the age of 40, not to mention their life situation by the time they're 40?

I mean a woman that was married at 16, became a housewife, had 10 kids, which are all grown and out of the house, and her husband just divorced her is going to be "looking for in life" something a little different than a 40 year old woman that never married and happily runs her own company.

Middle age spread and people just saying "f' it, it's half over now anyway."

Yea divorce isn't much fun is it? But its got a half life. ie it reduces by half after a few months then by half again after a while and so forth . In theory it never goes, but believe me it starts to become less ans less significant.
Until its practically homeopathic.

From my life, after 40 meant working, working, working and keeping a house, animals, garden and husband happy. Now end of 40s is where did all the time go? I think important is health, inner peace and how you treat others. That being said love and happiness should follow someday... someday...
I have been trying meditation and from it I have learned patience and self-awareness. Enjoy your life. Love yourself. Project peace.

I felt great when I turned 40! 30s can be quite the journey, thinking you know a lot, finding out you don't and so on.
When you're 40 you are more confident, don't give a toss about what others think of you, you are at your sexual peak that's kinda starting then, it goes on for quite some time).
It's like you finally blossom into what you were always striving to be(come). Likely because you are confident.
You shine and you radiate.

What you want depends. Not entirely sure what you mean, concerning relationships?
You've gotten more wisdom through life so you also know what you need in order to be happy & fulfilled. That's what you're looking for.
