I guess the US lives in hope that censoring pays off. I mean, they got very strict PG rules, people so religious it's scary, 6 churches right next to each other in 1 street, and having plural streets like that in each town. Yet topless bars & restaurants and stripclubs are totally normal and acceptable, and the south has close to the highest rate of porn watching / sales in the world. So it makes a lot of sense to censor I prefer the Dutch way, also how I raised my kids during puberty: Allow a lot more, give them unlimited, un-monitored internet access in their own rooms. They check some things they shouldn't a few times, then lose interest in it altogether as they have access to it if they want. Things are only interesting when you're forbidden to do them. In the forums though, it is nice to have censoring. Makes people more creative to still tell the story
