I'm surprised how difficult it has been to find an apartment.
I had two places email me to tell me their openings had been filled. I'm now contacting 25-50 miles away. There are two very large apt complexes near the Seabee base that look promising. There are two complexes closer to Keesler Air Force base that look promising. I just sent out contacts to them all. Will probably take a trip there tonight or tomorrow to look first hand. I did a google earth look and they seem to be in good areas of town. I really would love not to have to sign a new lease with the new owner here. I need to have a place good to go by April 1. Can't really start packing till I have a place to go. |

Tom, let me tell you about Baywood Place , we have one and two bedroom apartments, our 1 bedrooms rent is $494 a month with a deposit of $250, and our 2 bedrooms with two full bathrooms are $591 with a $300 deposit, and a $300 pet fee which is non- refundable. The amenities we have to offer is a nice pool, computer lab/ library, fitness center, and a club house. Thank you for the quick reply. I am 58 years old this year and disabled on fixed income (SSI). The duplex where I currently reside has been sold by Habitat For Humanity to a private owner. While I haven't discussed new terms with the new owner yet, I have been told the rent will increase. If I stay, my new lease will start on April 1. My March rent was paid in full and on time to the new owner on March 1. This is when I found out the property was sold. Habitat, gave no notice of any impending change when I paid my February rent in person. I looked at Baywood Place via Google Earth, it looks nice and you do offer nice ammenities for the prices listed. Alas, if there is nothing available, there is nothing available. When I do sit down and discuss my new leasing terms with this new owner, if they will do a limited lease, I will contact you again. I would be interested in the 2 bedroom/2 bath but I could make a 1 bedroom work. I have 14 grandchildren that live in other parts of the country. When they visit, I like having a spare bedroom available for them I am currently in a two bedroom unit now. Thank you for taking the time to contact me, Tom |
