rofl Show me where i lied ? I can point out at least a dozen statements of yours that are not true .whoa
you say this is trumps shutdown, well I see Trump willing to NEGOTIATE, but not Nancy. It's her way or nothing. So I give her credit for keeping it going. If you don't condem the blatant lies coming from the liberal media than you are to blame for spreading those same lies. Every time you call Trump a dingbat or racist is a lie . It's your opinion but that doesn't make it true. I have no reason to lie. Trump is doing the things he said he would do, that's why I voted for him and would again right now. He's trying to do what this country has needed for many years. He's making this country stronger and safer than ever before. What is the democrats plan for this country? They have no plan, just a lot of hot air despairaging our President. Not a plan to advance this country's greatness.

All I know is that Pelosi and other Dems spent a week in Hawaii and then ended up in Puerto Rico partying instead of being in DC to negotiate. THEN they decided to use a military jet on our dollar to take them to Brussels, Egypt and finally to see the troops in Afghanistan. They have BUSINESS to conduct here in the US of A. Thankfully Trump put a stop to that. It was stated very nicely and sweetly in his letter to Nancy. And if she wants to book commercial flights, then do so. All I really care about is that "we" don't vote for Socialism. I do not want to live in a country like Venzuela or Cuba or Russia ...... do NOT vote to lose our paychecks, our rights, have electricity for a few hours per day, etc. etc. People do NOT understand what socialism truly is, especially our college age kids. and yes, Russia IS a socialist country. Communist first, but in reality its socialist.

I dont know anyone who voted for 'socialism' as described here.

Socialism tends to start small and just get a small foothold as in the EU and the socialist democrats here. It will slowly erode capitalism and the free markets as it attempts to correct what they view as societal inequality. The true focus of socialism is to make all equal in most ways with the end result being some people from the bottom tier have a little better life while the vast majority have a poorer life. When those who w
ere hard working, productive people start seeing their future worse off, they tend to not work as hard. The end result is an economy that fails. Funny thing about socialist governments, most of those in the government do not make any of the sacrifices that the masses do.

Do you truly believe that the democratic party and people of this country really want a socialist goverment sir ? If so why hasnt a socialist party ever formed ? Even my boy Bernie doesnt want total socialism .
You're a very intellegent man that uses facts to get his point across . Please dont fuel these far right nutjobs with this kind of contreversy .

Socialism creeps in; it does not just magically appear unless there is a revolution such as Castro did. It comes in just a little bit at a time for "the good of the people". Unfortunately some part of the economy has to be applied to "the good of the people". People at first see it as better as their lives improve and the government confiscates the wealth of others for their benefit. As government confiscates more and more of the wealth from the economy, it starts to falter; there is no money for capital investment nor any additional wealth for those who are the most productive or take the biggest risk. Corruption runs rampant as people in the government try to take a little slice for themselves and those with any remaining wealth try to hide it. A perfect example is Venezuela and their confiscation of the oil industry. Venezuela use to be one of the world's richest oil producing regions, now the people are starving. That is the outcome of uninhibited socialism!!!

As for your boy, Bernie and your newly elected socialist Representative, they represent a continued push for increased socialism over what we currently have. We need to continually prune socialism less it overgrow our country and destroy our American way of life. I won't live long enough anymore for it to be a threat to me but my grandchildren will and I owe it to them to do the best I can to protect their future.

There are many, many other countries who embraced a form of democratic socialism, and they are doing just fine...the people enjoy a standard of living higher thatn *most* working people in the US..

Some of these posts here really sound a bit like a person's worth is only based on their intelligence, wallet/ bank account...

Sounds a bit like the beliefs in Nazi Garmany, about getting rid of "undesireables"..those who they viewed as "less than"..however one chooses to define that.

Scary.

Yet I bet these same people view abortion is wrong, because it is a human life and...as such, is valuable and worthy of protection.

FWIW...my dad's parents were country club people, my grandfather worked for BB & T bank.
My dad started his own business (printing) in the early 70's...
His parent peobably voted a straight Republican ticket...
My dad?
He voted Democratic, and we had several converesations about who he was douing better under...
I remmeber him saying he hoped thing improved under Clinton (back in 1992), because they were sucking petty bad business-wise when Bush was in office (for him and his associates anyway..
He was involved in many organizations (as a way to get business contacts), so, I'm sure he knew what he was talking about.

MY opinions and feeling come from my own observation and research, knowing people from all walks of life and various countries (my mom was an immigrant from Germany, wasn't a citizen until several yeas after comibng here with my dad)..
I observe the human condition, and am ~all for~ whatever makes life better for the most people...
Not for an elite group of white people who can look down on the poor and POC and disabled as "less than"...

Jesus said "whatever you do unto the least of these..."
And many other things..
Plus, he had no love for the rich, elite rulers.....something most Republicans who claim to be "Chjristain" evidently forget.

I bet your parents did not sneak in to this country illegally , and that is the sticking point to this crisis. Why should people be allowed to sneak in ahead of people trying to come here the right way. Some people are just so bent out of shape because Trump won and is still winning despite the resistance coming from the left that is deviding this country like never before. It's not fair for taxpayers to fund the non-sense or the fiasco going on at the border. The only impeachment talk should be against Nancy Pelosi for dereliction of duty. She is one disturbed and deminted old bag that doesn't understand that border security isn't her call. She is there to do what's best for our country .She works for us but she acts like it's all about her.

When the 'right' way is tied to financial status, I dont fight for it so much. sorry.

I have been through the immigration process PERSONALLY. I know how tedious and long it can be and the FINANCIAL requirements. those who need it most would never be able to do it the 'right way', so they make a better life for their family the best they can. I dont feel animosity towards them for this. And I certainly dont care about investing in making it EVEN more difficult than I happen to KNOW it already is.

It doesnt make it any more legal, but it doesnt meet the level of concern that I would put investing in keeping them 'out' ahead of all the other actual crisis citizens face on THIS side of the border.

Cuba is a communist country as is Russia and China. All at one time tried uncontrolled socialism and discovered that it was not feasible. They have all introduced certain capitalistic reforms managed by the state with some success. Other countries currently struggling with socialism include Italy, Greece, France, a couple Baltic states, and several central American countries. Both capitalism and socialism require some sense of balance to be successful. Both a pure capitalist economy or a pure socialist economy will fail and usually as the result of a violent revolution.

You left out Germany..who has had cradle-to-grave free health care for their citizens in some form since the late 1880's...

And we see how *that* has bankrupted them..

With the exception of France, again, you listed countries whose issues stemmed from corrupt government, not the democratic socialism vision.
(Berlusconi ring a bell?)

Again...I am referring to *democratic* socialism, as opposed to just plain socialism...there *is* a difference.
(Sweden, for example, has a type of 50/50 thing going (part socialism, part capitalism...a kind of "compassionate" capitalism)....and it's doing very well.

As I said, there needs to be a balance between capitalism and socialism. By the way, democracy has nothing to do with capitalism or socialism. It is a form of government not economics although most democracies tend to tilt stronger toward.capitalism while communist countries more toward socialism. A communist or dictator country does not need any socialism as the government dictates what happens in the economy. If they decide all you get is some beans and rice, then that is all you are going to get. I believe North Vietnam was basically that way and North Korea also. In those cases what the economy produced went to the government and basically nothing to the people.

The biggest difference between a democratic socialist country and the other 2 is who decides where and how much the fruits of the economy are distributed. In a democracy, the people through their elected government decide; in a communist country, the party decides, in a dictatorship, the dictator decides. The problem always seems to come when too much is taken out of the economy resulting in economic failure. Makes little difference if it is given to the people or squandered in some other manner by the government.

This is an era of travel. I see no reason why voters of the US cannot live where ever they wish and still have a say in the things they have authority to vote upon.

I lived in the UK for a time, but never intended it to be permanent. I was going to be affected by what was happening in the US whenever I returned, so it continued to be important enough that I had an opinion what was going on.

Trump makes good immigration offer to end shutdown!! Must have been a really good offer as those on both the far left and far right hate it!! I think the words chosen are amnesty vs fail to adequately protect. I'm thinking, with our current Congress, finding any middle ground on immigration is impossible........and the shutdown continues!!!! Maybe Pelosi will pull up her big girl panties and propose a counteroffer.....probably notfrustrated

So I guess we should stop trying to protect our borders because it's not easy or cheap or fast enough process for immigrants to come here the " right" way. The lesson to learn here: if it's hard for you than you should cheat and lie to get what you want instead of working for a better life. That is the kind of attitude we don't want in this country.

Personally if they want to call it Trump's shut down than so be it..Got to reach day 30 so we can cull the governmental herd and get rid of the excess.. RIF..Reduction In Force..This whole shut down "could" be another one of Trump's great moves in the game of 4D chess ..he knows the Globalists Dems don't want a wall because they want open borders..wouldn't surprise me if he relied on this fact..After all with all the Dems who claimed to want it before why the change of mind now..Because they lied in the first place..

As far as Impeaching Trump..IT's NOT GONNA HAPPEN..smile2

..WWG1 WGA

And 7 million out of over 300 million is a small drop in the bucket....only a mere 150 million or more til you achieve majority...Good Luck with that..LOL

US should fight for closed boarders, this fight is Long overdue. US doesn't want to be aa Socialist Country. Should Leftist ever take over Government,
i t will be more freedoms lost.

Trump has much opposition, however, still some support of people with intelligence.

Illegals are a problem because Leftist don't have the Logic to make right decisions instead of trying to do everything they can to derail Trump.
That's their goal. Pelosi is a joke and so are her followers. We need a woman who supports Trump.
