Topic: "to believe is to doubt"

It is one of the cornerstones of my peeves with 'fundies' and other radical and militant types, whom in the end, only believe in one thing:
... THEY OWN THE TRUTH, BECAUSE...!!!
... since THEY (believe they) have THE TRUTH,...
... THEY (are delusionally convinced they) are RIGHT,
and YOU are WRONG!

and in doing so place theirselves into the role of God

up is up because relative to another position it is a little higher than the previous up which is lower and down relative to the previous up. since the universe is limitless there is always a position that is more up so anyone that claim to be "up” in a hierarchy is in fact stating they are "down" relative to someone else who is higher in the hierarchy ..hence "up is down"

so those that are trying to pass off up as truth without sufficient proof to make such a claim are lying to themselves and to others, while using the word higher is only a way to justify the deception

“up is down” there is just no way around this logic

would not going around

put you at the same level

insert head scratching emoticon here

explain what you mean adj4u

up is up because relative to another position
there is always a position that is more up
--------
insinuating you may change position

would not going around

changing position

--------------

they are "down" relative to someone else who is higher in the hierarchy ..hence "up is down"

although changing your position you must be on the same plaine
with that which you are surpassing

put you at the same level

---------------------

to be up is up only relative to that which is lower

and to be down is only relative to that which is higher

they do not necessarily interchange with each other

in their on relativity

but only when adding other implications

hi, the definition of faith, cannot be defined by religion. The definition of faith has to defined incorrectly by religion, because religions deal with "truth" that can't be see, so religions have almost unverisally said that faith is believing what you can't see, I have little time here, but my own personal belief, maybe taken from the philiosophy that I read, is that faith, should be defined more closely with the idea of will, "I faith in my will, to dream, to decide, to confront, and in my faith, I have to realize it is only faith and not truth, even if it is my personal truth. Anyway, I get a little scare even in verbal discussions, because all of us don't know what the hell we're saying anyway.

"to believe is to doubt"

... is rather a legitimate and most pertinent topic which could be 'open for (real) debate' on a 'religious chat' forum.

So people, PICK:

1) CIVILIZED, HEATED (maybe), but SINCERE and REAL DEBATE

or,

2) ANOTHER NOISY AND POINTLESS 'PISSING CONTEST' ?!!?

Pissing contest: 'personal', excludes some others, holds a strong hidden agenda which one MUST win!

or

Debating match: 'universal', includes all, whether agreement is ultimately reached or not.

Essentially, IMO, and in full MUTUAL respect of people's convictions, the only debate worth having here, gravitates around reaching ... or not reaching consensus, and conciliation of the true nature of faith and beliefs on 'what is so!' (our respective, yet possibly shared perspective of reality).

It will be interesting to watch how this one turns out?!?!?
