We only play when it gets this big.
Then I go to sleep and play 'Lottery' in my head starting
from the moment I win..then doling it out ;-)

I do not mind making someone REALLY happy for a buck.

I played a few times and won a couple times.
I don't make it a habit. Maybe one ticket every few years.

Have you Ever won lottery ?

Yeah. A few times. Never the jackpot, though.
...I'd like to win the jackpot.

I played mostly when younger, my friends and I would always get scratch off's when we stopped to get gas (when gas was less than 1.50 a gallon).
But then they raised the minimum age to play to 18.

That was when I was a teen and worked at a grocery store and sold lottery tickets. A game called pick 3 came out. Jackpot was 1,000 if you picked the 3 digit number. That was the only jackpot. All or nothing.
There were a couple of students that would come in every sunday and spend $500 on tickets, playing half the numbers, avoiding the obvious like 999, 888, 777.
They always won, spent half on the next weeks numbers, every week, for months. I guess the people that came up with the game didn't really understand finite math or odds.
I couldn't wait to do it when I could legally play.

But after a few months so many people started doing it that they reduced the jackpot to 500, and that just killed the odds making it not worth it.

I also liked playing the lottery when the tickets were only a buck. It was a fun way to get rid of the change floating around in my car and made easy last minute birthday card inserts.

I play on occasion when it's a big one. This time I decided to do a lottery pool with people I know.

I think in my entire lifetime I have spend less than $20 on lottery tickets.
Since I don't play, I can't win but, I can't lose either...

I used to play the Staatsloterij (national lottery) & Jackpot each month, which isn't cheap but you can win quite big as well.
I never won anything, not even E10.

At some point I realized it was always a 1/5th lot that won the Jackpot, meaning the prize was divided by 5 and if the other 1/5ths hadn't sold... no one won that money.
Granted, the Jackpot then was more next month, but the interest they must've gotten...
I never bought a 1/5th lot but a 1/1 lot which was more expensive of course. I decided to quit playing.

Someone was getting rich from the chit, but I doubt it's the people who play.

I don't play the lottery. There have been a few TV documentaries here in the UK. Showing how those that won millions spent some of their winnings and how their lives had changed, which I always find interesting. There was one couple that after winning a few million, continued to play the same lottery and won an even bigger win within a few months of the first, whoever said, "lightening never strikes twice in the same place". Some folks are unbelievably lucky!

Yes that is uncommon to win twice .

Some people even spend that money within a year . They do not have no control in how to spend money.

Never play a state sponsored lottery. Just one organised by my local football team. And the odd auction with my Facebook Cat Group. It's forba good cause as well, and today I won a small painting with a parrot on it ... which I will keep as a present for a very special person
