Of those on the forums, who is actually using Mingle2 to find a date/relationship?

Me.

I am not on here to chit chat/ make idle small talk..even though I do participate in relevant posts.

I can engage in chit chat on FB....

Although most profiles I run across are old, haven't been touched in a month or more (why do the mods not like when people say this?)..I continue to hope I will run across someone within a reasonable distance who I have things in common with.

I would LOVE to be one of Mingle's "Success Stories"..

At this point though, that's ALL I have...hope...

My first time around on Mingle, I was here looking. I found someone, and it lasted over 2 years, with some ups and downs. I don't regret it. The only regret was how it ended. Not horribly, just that my life suddenly became a mess. I could have -- and should have -- handled it differently. But life is a learning process.

This current time around, I wasn't looking. More like I was just testing the waters in order to warm up to it. But then unexpected things happen. When opportunity knocks, it worth taking time to explore it. Sometimes the best relationships just sort of happen and seemingly by accident. So I'm giving it a go.

Ultimately I am here looking for a relationship.
If I do find someone (here or elsewhere) I will no longer be at any dating sites.
In the mean time, I socialize in the forums.
I socialize at many different forums at many different sites, not just dating sites.
Of all the different communities I frequent, dating forums are filled with the most shallow drama. The personality types are the most diverse.
If I were trying to teach an AI about human personalities, I would use dating forums.

Speculative forums consist of people's imagination.
Science forums consist of peoples, knowledge and understanding.
How to and prepper forums consist of peoples ingenuity.
SHTF, conspiracy and dating forums consist of peoples fears and trauma.

I treat my forum participation as a tool that expands on my profile.
I see what others post and it expands my understanding of their personality.
Since my reason for being here is to find someone I value what you write to my agenda. Other men are my competition but I also learn from what they contribute. Mostly what not to say but sometimes its beneficial. Most of the time the true lesson is in the personality patterns and not in the written words.

I'm just here for the free popcorn.
