It does not bother me when people view my profile, but I heard some people say they don’t like it and I was just wondering what most people thought.

The known presence of scammers definitely changes the dynamics, but there may even be some good that comes because of that because it provides an excuse to seek high quality communication.

I have too many reasons to list for checking a profile. That said, I have a way to anonymously view a profile, which I will use from time to time.

I am like Dreamerana in that I will sometimes check the profile of somebody I've run across in the forums. It may just be a friendly viewing to learn more about them, or it may be to check our compatibility, or it could even just be to see where s/he is from. I tend toward curiosity like that.

Rarely do I check a profile without some form of prior contact, such as email or forums. Even then, I tend toward anonymity to avoid any undesired responses, such as if I have doubts about the user or if I don't want the person to mistakenly think I'm interested.

To know more about that person I view their profile~

There are public forums on 'other' sites so just here for the forums is an excuse.
I'm 'here' mainly for the forums but I don't have a problem with people viewing my profile on the main site, it comes with the membership.

I wish I could. Delete the Stalkers viewing me! Most cannot fit through my Filters , so I am Not interested.

I really don't look at that many. It seems kinda pointless here. I get upward of 100 views a week at times. All of them are the ones that really no one should waste their time with trying to contact. I very seldom get a view from anyone "real" and close enough to contact if I wanted too.

About 99% of what I see are those 20 and 30 something "magazine models". I've already deleted about 30 of those from my viewed me page today.

I tried to message a couple Men, but they have Filters.

They in my age. Group but probably want 20 yrs Younger and closer to their Home.

If I don't message a man, I am not interested in him.

Oh well.

I am not a fan of sensory deprivation. If the only instruction is “don’t stalk people,” without any other instruction, I would be like “Hmmm what should I do, hmmm, well I guess I could see what’s up with stalking.” Social competance is important and is not emphasized enough in today’s culture.

Come on, we all know you are not the stalker type.

I agree! I don't get the terminology "perv" though. Isn't the whole point of a profile to let others know more about you. Sometimes I forget certain things so I look again. And other times I look again to see if there's anything new.

I like to know where people are from, how old they are... that especially. If I am attracted to a man, I might want to meet him ... but not if he's 20 years younger than me.

If you are sitting on a bench on the street and someone walks by you look at them. Its not stalking to look at people and its not stalking to view profiles on a dating site.
