Noones ever died from smoking pot. Gimme a break. Yeh 409 intrinsic carcinigens. Lung cancer. Can you say bob marley died of it? Hello. Ask a doctor.

how about this. link me to a story about a guy who smoked so much pot that he just croaked.

And bob marley did not die from pot, he had malignant melanoma in his foot and it was against his belief to recieve treatment or amputate his foot(the rasta must be 'whole'). It then turned into cancer which attacked his brain, stomach, lungs and liver. So no.. you are completely wrong. Tell your doctor to smoke some pot and quit spellin out BS

If you look up marijuana and cancer there is a 30yr study that shows that it does not cause lung cancer. Its some kind of miracle cause it does have all those carcinogens in it.

He's very correct. yzrabbit, smart man :-D.

There's a chemical balance in marijuana that subdues the cancer effects you'd imagine would take place.

to add:

After all, cancer treatment patients are GIVEN marijuana to subdue side-effects of chemo. SO BOOYA!

thats tough...my ex smoked pretty much everyday, and when i asked him to cut back, he just started lying to me about what he was doing, and was choosing weed over me and his son. It can be a very destructive drug. If he thinks he needs it he has a problem and needs to see a doctor. But on the other hand, pretty much anything can be used in moderation.

I do not have anything against people whom choose to relax by smoking weed, I am just wondering if it is a reason to end a relationship in which one person does only does it once, twice a year , the other does it 2 three times a day?
I have struggled with this before and I am not a pot smoker, I find it makes some people lethargic, I find it hard to get emotions out of someone who is always high lol

It bothers me because i like to get things done, i find it cause some laziness
i know where your coming from, my ex is addicted to it, i never realy cared for it, i would say, as long as your there, it will be a problem, now i have nothing against the drug, but it is an ilegal drug, and if hes not leagal to use it, then ure at risk every day your around it.9 chances out of 10, he wont stop, so sorry, but id talk to him and if he chooses to continue his every day problem, then id let him go.

If I smoked pot 3 times a day.. I'd leave me. Lethargy being the least of the symptoms. You'd find me hiding in the cupboard under my bathroom sink more often then not.

All the studies regarding carcinoma's and addiction can be disputed all day long. It's all theory anyway. Using personal experience to say conclusively, that it is not a carcinogen or not addictive is a bit short sighted, however. It leaves out, that some people are predisposed to addictive behavior while others are not. Conversely...I'm a recovering alcoholic. Just because I've had issues with it, does not mean I will not be friends with people who do not.

There is substantiated proof that Cannabis has much medicinal value... That does not make a very sound argument either. Opium, Cocaine, even Clostridium botulinum ~ or botulism ~ a deadly Neurotoxin has medicinal properties. All, when misused or abused can kill.

Yes.. of course people can die under the influence of Cannibus. It is pretty much common knowledge that operating heavy machinery or driving a car and pot is not a good mix. The road test for alcohol is the same one for Cannibus for a reason. Reaction time and judgement are impaired.

There is also a link to mental illness as well. It is suggested in many studies that it can both precipitate and exacerbate latent or existing disorders such as schizophrenia.. an illness of which suicide rates tend to be rather high.

In so far as the original posters question. All this statistical information really is insignificant. If it makes you uncomfortable in the relationship...there is probably good reason. Whether the pot smoking, the personality, or a combination of the two are to blame is not really at issue.

The fact that you are uncomfortable is the issue. Everything else seems secondary.

I really am a kind nice guy and belive in God and I got in to smoking that stuff, and I am ashamed at my self for doing it alot. Cause it no good for you, unless you really really need it. noones perfect neither though. I still have my job which I'm glad. Me and the people I was doing it with, actully got pulled over one day and we had it with us, but we were all lucky as heck. <----does not suggest pot to anyone infact i'm against it and always will be from now on cause it causes more trouble then a lot of other stuff, unless u doing it because you have cancer or something, then that's a diff point of view

My soon to be ex is a pot head. She swears how it doesn't harm you and its all natural blah blah blah.... I have been with her for 28 years and let me tell ya... She is fried. Hello anyone home. Too bad, she used to be so sharp. I used to smoke it all the time too. But I guit when I realized I wasn't doing anything. Just hangin out, chillin, bein cool. What a waste.
I can tell you from personal experience... It has an effect. If you do not want this in your life then you may have to be the one to leave because he probably doesn't have the ambition to do it. Otherwise put up and shut up. You can't force him to stop.

I agree with a lot of what this guy says. But when people talk about pot not killing someone, they mean through drug overdose. Falling asleep at the wheel, or putting on make up or eating a chicken sandwhich while driving can cause you to wreck and die so you're not going to date anyone who's had a vehicular accident?

The last part I agree with most. It's about you and what you're comfortable with. It's not really about pot, it's about the guy. I don't like the assertion that pot makes you a lazy loser, I just think a lot of lazy people smoke pot. You can moderate usage, and responsible people who enjoy it usually aren't the type to go to class or work stoned. For years I smoked daily, but I treated it like I'd treat a glass of wine at the end of the day.

I don't use pot. Actually the only pot I use is the one that you put on a stove and cook stuff in it you know the stainless steel kind . I don't use the pot that causes the user to get cooked.

okay....obviously you're struggling with more than this issue in your relationship....weed is an herb and is not a reason to break up a relationship....your boyfriend is obviously just lazy and you're choosing to blame it on the weed....you yourself have smoked it and its not for you....just because its not for you doesn't mean that you need to bash it...lazy people are lazy and its not just because they smoke weed

Nope. However.. I might consider doing the driving or walk, if she continues to drive recklessly.
Of course that was what they were talking about. Overdose and such.. I just thought that it deserved mention.

Poor judgement probably being the leading cause of death in this world since the beginning of time. Pot is simply a vehicle, just like heroin is a vehicle..it is just a shorter ride between deciding to take the hit (which is poor judgement) and death.

I think it's only valid to do so if it interferes with their life, your life, and your relationship.

It's a great recreation, and in all honesty, safer than alcohol.

If you love them for who they are, and their smoking doesn't have a negative effect on their life, your life, or your relationship, why end a good thing?

I'm into catnip now. It's cheap, it's legal,no cottonmouth, and you don't need a match. (hey, did anyone else see that mouse?)
And now when I get the munchies, I go for tuna..
