Absolutely, but it's when they become 'offended' by my greeting and make attempts to infringe on my right to say it is when they're gonna have a huge problem with me! Merry CHRISTMAS! |

Point is "Merry Christmas" sells. No matter what anyone's beliefs may be. I truly believe retailers are going to backpeddle, some already are

The entire history of this country is BASED in religion.
There is ABSOLUTELY no way,you can talk about the beginning with out religion. We have always been that way & will always stay that way. MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL & to all GOOD DAY. |
Yeah Sage
actually one of the reasons we came over from Europe was because of the religious oppression ... and here we are all over again. *sigh* ((((((((((((((( MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! ))))))))))))))) |

Since christmas was actually a holiday of the winter solstice before christians claimed it as christs birthday, happy holidays is more politically correct. If is it christs birthday for you, good, if it is winter solstice for someone else, good. There are too many different religions and traditions to not be respectful to all.
So I say HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all who are celebrating something as some do not celebrate at all. |

^^ and I respect your comments dragon. But actually I believe "Merry Christmas" has been politically correct since the nation was founded.
And again, when the pilgrims founded America part of the reason they left England was religious oppression from the state of England. They want to feel free to say what they want when they want. As it should be. If you celebrate Kwansa I'd be glad to wish you a Happy one too! But last time I checked I've never heard a retailer or well wisher say "happy winter solstice" Just a thought. |

You are ABSOLUTELY correct that is one of the main reasons for coming to America, that is why the separation from church and state is in the constitution. But if you are sending out holiday cards and each family you know celebrates something different, it is more respectful of all if your cards say Happy Holidays, right??? |
If I celebrate Christmas and my beloved friend celebrates something else, I would not send them a Merry Christmas card as it would have no meaning for them, it would be selfish on my part and inconsiderate, right?????

yes it has always been merry christmass te and my family and it will stay merry christmass for always

The company I work for got really pissed about this and has made it madatory we answer the phones MERRY CHRISTMAS.... I have always did it anyway

I have to agree with Fade on this one. Just as they are taking God out of our money they are trying to rob us of what has been known throughout this land since our founding father found it. Which is "IN GOD WE TRUST" and Merry CHRISTMAS.
I don't have a problem with any other cultures beliefs and saying but here in America it's Merry Christmas..... |
