I watch a lot of movies.
I LOVE monsters. The weirder the better. That being said, People can be monsters. Not the creature kind of monsters I love but the personality type of monsters. Psychopaths and sociopaths are just two types of extreme monster mentalities. There are also subtle mental instabilities that can make a monster. Narcissism is a major player in making a person a monster. Bipolar personality shifts can also make a person a monster sometimes and an angel other times. Then there are people with the capacity to be a monster but are not until a certain breaking point is reached. Finally, there are the monsters in hiding, that never surface because the person is in control of themselves. There are also monsters in groups of people. Individually, the persons in the group are not monstrous but when in the group, together they do monstrous things. |

I don't know anymore. It doesn't mean anything scary anymore, at least IMO. I've had too many people tell me about monster boobs, monster tacos, monster "penis" (rooster term), monster waves, monster job search, monster energy drink. And I saw the Disney movie Monsters Inc. When I was a kid there was Monster Sunday, a local (uhf maybe?) channel showed godzilla/japanese monster movies all day. |

What do you think a monster is? Not just the dictionary definition. Context is everything, monsters can be lovable, here in UK there was a TV commercial for breakfast cereal featuring a huge guy in a costume, with square shoulders and yellow hair, a sort of better- looking version of Frankenstein, and he was called 'The Honey Monster' ............the name caught on, and stuck firmly to a famous footballer of the time :) |

a sadist, a psychopath or a serial killer comes to mind.... Charles Manson ? Jeffrey Dahmer...... the Zodiac Killer...
