Is there a possibility of people not expecting sex who are seeking the opposite sex as a friend? If Yes, then why do they seek an opposite sex for friendship?

I seek the 'opposing sex' for friendship because I have noticed that when there's no sex involved and it's not expected by either party then the moments passed together are much more relaxed and enjoyable.
There's no pressure to please, no expections and no power play, hence no manipulation, no drama and no regrets.
Sex isn't a big part of a relationship and since it is so much available these days I prefer to keep sex and relationship separate.
A good woman friend is better than all the sex in the world.

I think this topic has been discussed already.

All friendships with the opposite sex does not include Having sex with that Friend.

I go dinning , movies with a nice gentleman often, not a sex partner.

Depends on the two people involved I guess.

Myself I prefer male friends less drama~~~

Even work in a all male environment and love it....

Why would anyone think that your friends could only be those of the same sex??

Not all men/women just want sex some really want a friend to hang out with..whoa

There are some situations which are awkward to go out to as a single person. The local university has a small movie theater and older people are attracted to the films presented there. You can go on your own or with a group or another person. Unfortunately there are situations when it is better not to be the odd one out. If people can socialize and enjoy each other's company and the event they are attending without the pressure of having to "perform" or "put out" or what have you, I think it can be a more memorable experience.

People get the wrong idea about couples going out somewhere, unless the community they belong to know it is only platonic. I don't think there is anything wrong with going out with a male friend, but most people who are friendly tend to do so only in private.

different strokes for different folks . i'm sure there are people who are looking for FWB . on both sides of the gender fence . and there's nothing wrong with that . as long as both are being honest about it . we shouldn't judge others for the things they like . but if someone is going to want fwb and tries to get it with someone that wants to build a relationship first then that is where it becomes wrong . that is now a player . i personally would like to have a steady relationship with a wonderful sex life in it . but if i'm still waiting for a long time for that to happen , like let's say close to or over a year , i start to not turn down an offer of fwb's . while i'm waiting for the right one to come along which could take a long time . as long as they are clean and respectful , sex can be a wonderful thing . just my opinion .

A friend is a friend ..it shouldn't matter what the sex is,but it does depend on what each is seeking and should be made clear..,but sometimes in male female relationships feelings change..it can be a fine line..some people can't walk it..and in the end wind up losing the friendship.

But one has to be mature and respect the others wishes..you see those too are signs of a true friend..but a lot of times that type of maturity comes with age and wisdom......(.or erectile dysfunction..lol) sorry about the levity couldn't resist...smile2

My profile says “Looking for marriage”, but I think I am more likely to make a friend than find love and marriage again. I don’t care if I cultivate friendships with women or men. Friends are friends to me.

I noticed there is no option for seeking “both” or “either”. If you’re seeking frindships, you have to choose one or the other also. Lol!

In today's LGBT world anyone can have sex with anyone and someone will accept it. Hell, you could probably have sex with a toaster and someone will accept it. (Read an article about sex-bots being a reality in 5 to 10 years)

To assume that people are boinking any friend of the opposite sex is ludicrous. Why not also assume people are boinking all their friends (no matter the gender)?

The OP seems like a question a sex-crazed teenage boy might ask.

Is there a possibility of people not expecting sex who are seeking the opposite sex as a friend?

Consciously, mindfully, directly? Yes.
Subconsciously, unconsciously? No.
Once you hit puberty, the mating instinct pretty much influences every decision you make in some way, to some degree.

why do they seek an opposite sex for friendship?

Sex based gender social validation.
Might as well ask why women like to go to clubs "just to dance," or guys go to strip clubs knowing they won't get laid or girlfriends.

I have always made friends easier with guys. Also, much less drama and backstabbing.

I seem to click well with women now.
For the most part, I find women actually listen to the words being spoken. I prefer women Drs over men Drs because I get better care from the Women Drs because they actually listen to me.
I've also recently (last 5 years) become more tuned to people's sensitivities and women seem to pick up on that.
Still, I don't have the urge to bed every woman I meet.

Sir...Genuine friendship with an opposite gender friend is a symbol of honesty;sincerity;pure love and respect.

If a vicious person has other idea of friendship involving sex and more; this person is to avoid at 100%.Valid for both genders.
