Nothing new, just usually don't have this much problems with them.
It's got to be this constant extreme change in weather patterns.

Could be.

I'm finding out more and more of what's around here, that I don't have access to because of the snow.

I'll be applying to other places today for seasonal work for the summer, but I'm leaning more on staying here. There's a lot of trails to hike and I'll be able to go canoeing, and check out the cave and waterfall.

Lake George in NY looks really nice, as does the places in Alaska, Oregon, and Mackinaw Island, MI... and.... laugh

Too many places to choose from. Guess I will just apply at several and let the Universe guide me bigsmile

There ya go, think of a few you'd really like to go to and apply.
I'd love you do some exploring out there myself, after the snow and cold is gone..laugh

It's pretty sunny today, I'm thinking of seeing if I can get the snowshoes and hold on to them until tomorrow. They normally need to be returned by 5pm, which makes it difficult today. We're at low occupancy, so they might let me. Would make it a lot easier, it takes a while to walk back and forth to the place I get them at.

Definitely would be better when the snow is gone happy

That's nice, hope it's not to cold. Hope they let you keep them for the night so you don't have to trudge twice to get them or find out.

Waiting on the new ignition switch myself or I'd probably be well on my way to the marina. No sun, but it's fairly warm. Going to be 70 tomorrow, but rain more. I'll take it over the cold, if it would just stay that way.

Nice, hope it stays warm for a couple days for you.

It's warmer today, 23 degrees right now and expected to be in the high 30's. So it should be pretty nice for a walk. When there's not a lot of wind and it's sunny out, it feels about 10 degrees warmer. The sun is pretty intense up here.

I'll be back shortly, heading to breakfast waving

I imagine the sun is with all the white around, probably blinding, plus you're closer to the sun... laugh

Enjoy breakfast! ttyl... flowerforyou

Well the business got postponed. Went to pick up my snowshoes and they were about to have a cross country ski lesson, so I joined in. Wanted to see if I learned how to do it, if I would like it better than the first time.

It was great. Once I figured out how to center myself and find my balance, it was so much easier. The instructor took us out on the trails and I did a little up hill and down hill too. Only fell twice, the first time I thought I twisted my ankle, but the second time I fell like a pro laugh I was out for about a hour and a half, so got a pretty good workout.

I got the snowshoes until tomorrow, so I can go hiking early now. It was beautiful this morning, I'm glad I did the morning session instead of waiting until 1:30pm, cuz it's windy now.

that's great and the skis are actually less of a work out when you just want to go wander around

Yes, that's what I was thinking. There's a lot of areas I'd like to explore, so the ski trails will help me be able to do that. I can just take a nice little stroll on them. Between the ski's and snowshoes, I will be able to see a lot more.

you can forge your own trails with the skis too but that can be as much of a work out as the snow shoes at least on the way out lol

I could, but it's not recommended. Especially going up the mountain. It's best to stay on the trail, or close to it. There's a lot of places that have sudden drop offs, and with the snow coverage, it's hard to determine how much.

I've gone off the trail with snowshoes, across fields and even with the fields, the land is pretty uneven. One minute the snow would be just above my ankles, and the next minute above my knees.

yep at least with the shoes when you do that you stay mostly on top lol

Yes, and when there's animal tracks I follow them. So far that's worked pretty well with not running into too deep of snow.

and we might just lose you if you found deep snowtongue2

I wonder how many days would go by before I was missed, or weeks. whoa

There's some pretty tall banks of snow along side the walkway to the dining hall. The snow just keeps getting higher from drifting. It's just about over my head now. Pretty cool to see.
