I am currently watching the designated survivor series in Netflix ... I heard this line and it just struck me as it has something to do with relationships:

The right person will see you in the right way.

What are your thoughts? Thanks

I like Designated Survivor :) I cannot recall the context it was said in, but I think it is very profound.
It doesn't mean that the person is the best possible match for you, but simply the right one at that moment in time. Nor does it mean that they will see all of you and/or who you really are.
The "right way" can mean they can and will only see what you need them to see at that moment. Or what you want them to see.

In a relationship I'd rather have him see the real me, not just what suits him, or me.
Of course then you could still say "He's the right person and he sees me the right way."

Hello crystal flowers could we say the right person could see the real person in all his imperfections but being the right one would love even more as he is the right one?
The conversation was with the president and his son when the teenager was saying everyone would just see him as the presidents’ son and nothing else. The president said the right person will see you differently or in the right way. (Something like this but not exact)

Hi sis

That's my interpretation or understanding of what "The right person will see you the right way" means.

To me it means that that person will "get" me, understand me and see me for who I am rather than who they want me to be.

The president is trying to reassure his son that some day the right girl will see through all the outer stuff and see him for the person he is rather than his status in life.

It's like when someone tells you that you deserve someone who appreciates and loves you for who you are. That person would be the person who sees you in the right way. imo

Oh and which first lady died? Real life or in the show?

Hello sis it’s in the shows 2nd season last episodetears you have explained it so clear from the shows point of view. I am relating it to relationships, meaning the right person will stick with you no matter how or what you are.... but I guess we have to be the right person too for that matter and for any relationship to last flowerforyou thanks sis flowers

Exactly sis, if both aren't the right person, it tends not to last.

Although even if you are both the right person for each other, it still takes effort to keep the relationship healthy and strong, but I believe when you find the right one, it's not as much work to "make it" work, things just naturally fall into place.

I was referencing the show and your statement, but I believe it's the same in the real world. The right person will see you for who you are, not what you do or don't do.

Thanks for the post sis flowers

If she were the right one, I imagine she would do that just to please her man...and he being the right one would show his appreciation in a way that matters to her. bigsmile

What do you mean sis when you say "you must do your best to be the right person"?

I'm thinking you mean continue to be all that we are and be good to the one we're with?

I agree, it should come naturally. It's a natural fit like that right shoe for the right foot, and same for the left foot kind of thing.

As far as not flinching and missing out, it does take two for that, so how's it work when maybe only one of you sees the light?
