I actually prefer to date younger guys, but not TOO much younger! .

My 2nd wife is 7 years younger than me, the biggest problem with the age difference was the era we grew up in.. Different tastes in music and just general thinking. It lasted 12 years, so I can't complain and she's my confidant, a best friend, family and someone I know I can trust and would do anything for me, and I for her.

I believe there are many more important things to consider than age, but it really depends on the two people involved and how they feel towards any age difference between them, age matters to some and not to others.

There is the half your age plus 7 rule, which is supposed to show what most people believe is an acceptable age difference, but not necessarily one they would accept for themselves. This suggests someone 48, should look for a partner between the ages of 31 and 82. However, the average age difference on marriage is only 5 years here in the UK. So it does seem to matter in marriage to most people.

It seems to me that men tend to slow down as they get older.
They have a spurt of activity people like to call the mid-life crisis but after that its more of a gradual toning down of activity levels.
Women seem to have a slowing as they near menopause. During or just after menopause, many women have an increase in activity, a reaction to a life changing event. Could be a factor in younger male preferences?
After both have undergone their change and have stabilized again, the age difference is less significant. It can also be insignificant before the change. Its the life-change that inspires the preference change.
I think it has to do with awareness of mortality.
Searching for youth in others and all that.

Just imagine my partner who is 15 or even 10 years younger than me, ( An Old Fart ), pushing my wheelchair everywhere, instead of going with her friends and neighbors to the Bingo 3 days a week and meat/toys raffle 3 days a week??
Who is going to miss all the morning and late night shows on Tv ??..Her again...See what I mean ??..Instead, she will need to take care of an old body bag vegetable like me, finally, she will dump me into the retirement village or nursing home anyway

How about you pushing 15 or even 10 years older than you granny's wheelchair everywhere around instead having a quiet night with the old boys at the club or pub or a game of strip poker with the old girls at the retirement village??..Well, if you have no choice, then, strip poker with the girls from the Nursing home
