I remember the luncheon meat in tin cans, and rock hard biscuits from a metal box.. Sometimes we would find maggots on it, but we eat the biscuits anyway . I don't think I could chew a biscuit today, I would have to have steel denture Oh yes, I could soak them in water first ?

it's a can opener do you know the american nickname for it ?? I might be thinking of something else here but is it a John Wayne. Could have sworn I've heard one of your guys call something a John Wayne.

I've heard the nickname sh!+ Shucker. It was used to open cans of chipped beef, to put on toast... ....aka. sh!+ on a shingle
