I actually did choose my own name, back in 2001. I had read about the Aborigines carrying their birth name into adulthood and changing it to represent who they are in their new life. I was recreating my life, so changed my name legally to represent my new journey in life.
It can be problematic at times having an alias, so I wouldn't change it again. Besides, I like both my names...my family still calls me by my birth name.

I'd choose my own name :) It's beautiful, suits me and I'm happy with it!

Hummm would not change my name~~~ I actually like my name and prefer to be called by my given name of Kristi and even tho some shorten it to Kris I still prefer my full name...

i chose my name myself. at the age of 8, my name on my identity card was changed legally, with the one i chose.
