How do you persuade anyone?

Cater to their rational or irrational self interest.

It's easier when you can find someone whose self interest aligns with your own.

Other than that:
- offer incentives to motivate them.
- offer a means of avoiding fear and stress through affirmative honesty, avoid facades of positivity but be positive and consistent.
- get to know them and what they need, honestly highlight the things about you that fulfill those needs.
- facilitate decisions that allow agreement, don't put them in the spotlight and get them to commit to something, honestly commit to small things yourself that are easy and allow them to choose simple answers that are commitments thereby agreeing with yours, creating miniature bonds that grow.


And even other than that there are a ton of books you can get.
Like "Getting to Yes," and Robert Cialdini's "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion."

Not sure if vacuuming and doing the dishes would do the trick, but it sure as heck would be nice! Cooking would be another bonus...
But nothing works as good as a passionate kiss.
Oh and as for the psychological approach ... walk up to someone, compliment them on something, then say you got to go because of whatever and walk away. Leaves them confused and now suddenly wanting you, just cos you didn't want anything from them. Could lead to an exchange of phone numbers, and maybe more.

Repeated beatings followed by "I'm sorry. I'll never do it again. I love you sooooo much." Then telling them they are worthless and they are lucky you love them because nobody else would. Then repeat the cycle. After three or four cycles they'll do whatever you tell them to do. That's the power of persuasion.

I have found a certain amount of pleasure in older ways of saying things. In woodworking and other construction-related areas, "persuade" means something slightly different that it means in normal personal conversation.

It usually means something more comprehensive that either "bribing," or "forcing" things to work. It means looking carefully at the details of the situation, and adjusting EVERYTHING as required to get it all to work harmoniously.

I find that is usually the best approach to "persuading" human beings as well.
