What happened to The cardgame magic? Are there still people out there who play?
actually yes it's still going strong. You can go to www.playmagic.com

Funny that you should ask. I'm actually playing in a weekly tournament next week. Wizards of the Coast sponsors an event called "Friday Night Magic." Participating stores can either run a Type 2/Standard constructed tournament or a booster draft.
The entry fee at the store where I play is less than the after-tax cost of two booster packs but EVERY player gets two booster packs just for playing (and then the top 4 get a few extra packs.) It's a great deal and you get to play cards all night to boot! |

Awesome I am glad to hear those poeple are stilll around

hahahaha i still have my red and black deck hehe
I still have my cards...they're by type then by alphabetical order.
I haven't had them in deck form forever. I used to play as black and white. |
I have a black deck full of zombies and a red and black deck that I refer as my "blow shizzz up" since its full of instances
Maybe a bit off topic, since it doesn't deal directly with the actual cards (though shouldn't this be in the Games forum, so this might be more "on topic"). How are the Magic: The Gathering video games?

magic videogames suck (except magic online which doesnt count as its just magic online)
And magic is still around and massivley popular, i play it and lorwyn is really good my favorite deck is an ichrorid, dredge deck with counter isochrons thrown in 4 control |
OMG I hate lorwyn (cause I don't have any decks of it yet). A new guy showed up at our "meetings" and pretty much killed me in 3 turns. I was like "wtf happened!?" I barely got a zombie out
lorwyn is the bastard son of onslaught, its tribal and MUCH faster than ravnica or timespiral
although its is kinda mean when tourney level players slaughter the noobs with their 1.5 decks
Hey, whats that suppose to mean...oh wait..I am a noob
I still have my ANGEL deck(and lots more) but haven't played in a while

c right there carebear thats a typical timmy thing to do, all players start off thinking "ooh just waitll i get get my leviathon out" (or some other massive creature that could be taken out by a terror lol) but as players get better they realize how efficientcy and power are the same thing, which is y that goblin deck was able to defeat a deck that probably had much more powerful cards, it was faster.
ive been playing magic 4 a while and am very interested in the metagame my ichorid deck controls the field by turn 3 with cabal therapy and remand on a stick (isochron scepter) and can win by turn 5 through ichrorids played 4 free via frequent dredging of stinkweed imp and flashing back the therapy to put the soon dredged imp in my graveyard |
of course a real pro (which i am not) would just sideboard in some graveyard hate (like withered wretch) and eat me alive
I would Black Lotus and Forest the first turn to play Channel and Tooth & Nail (with entwine) and put two Darksteel Colossi in play.

My magic "Rival" loves to pull out the dark steel gargoyle (which is indestructible) and slaps on a world slayer with it, and he pretty much wins the game. There has to be a way to subdue the indestructible monsters in the game. The only card that would do damage to it is Paige the Untouchable O_o

Damnitscloudy, you might take a look at Swords to Plowshares or Condemn to get rid of Darksteel Gargoyle. You could also consider any number of anti-artifact cards to get rid of Worldslayer.
