Topic: Music......Britain vs America | |
---|---|
Ok most of us love a tune or two but who really is better at making music, the Americans who gave us the birth of rock n roll and Elvis or the Brits who gave us The Beatles and The Rolling Stones....It'd be good to hear some-one elses opinions as I love all music from both sides of the pond

the best english producer is better
than the worse american producer but the best american producer is better than the worse english producer |
it 'd be America we have the Grand Ole Opry. But Europe did send us Kieth Urban but he has never been on the Opry
american hands down...except i think i'm the only person who loves oasis...

Keith Urban is Australian !
AC/DC is Australian.
INXS is Australian. There are heaps of great Australian performers. |
that would be right but its still Europe like i said. I dont think any one from england has been on the Opry kind of sad.

Australia is not Europe !!!

since i think music is from the heart, i dont think u can define it by geography, but rather the experiences of those who write it!
While that is true that music is how it effects us within, whether it be the performer or one that does write it, there is certainly no reason why a country can't be proud of it's own.

I agree.
But for an 'in general' type answer~ I like music from just about all over the world. But when I look at my cd collection, I think I have more Brit er...English cds. Probabablly because indie, 80s retro., and alternative music is what I have most. Yes, Australia has some dandy musicians! Midnight Oil is one of my favorites. |

americans invented rock n roll, europeans revitalized it. now there r great bands from both hemispheres. oh and for the record, elvises' influence is far greater than his talent
just because yer kidding
does not make it false |
but the question was making music not performing music
producers are ultimately the maker of the music not the performer of the music there are many great performer everywhere but they can not find a producer to produce their music |
It was always my understanding that while Elvis helped make it what it is, a couple years prior to him signing his contract it was actually Chuck Berry and his amazing guitar sounds that invented R&R....
Well now we have youtube so these bands can get themselves exposed and get to a producer quicker... adj4u.... yeah I caught that... and you don't think I pay attention or read between the lines lol (sometimes truth hurts...) |
