That really is more of a cop-out and excuse, rather then a fully thought out explanation, using reason and logic.

Yes, of course there is a human tendency to have a level of prejudice against something you are afraid of, don't understand, or refuse to understand.

For instance, when I was a child, I hated mathematics... Actually I did not hate it, I just had a hard time grasping it at first, and I feared it. Today I am an engineer and I use formula's daily to do my work. In other words..accepting and understanding is the key. It works the same way for bigotry as it involves race, class, sexuality, and a myriad of other differences.

Just because things have always been...does not mean they always have to be. We all have the power to choose and anyone who chooses to not accept, not understand...and make such generalised statements, such as what I have read here in this thread, and will not repeat...has made a choice to be closed minded and live in a much smaller world then the rest of us. Pretty unfortunate for you, and yo alone..unless you choose to proliferate those sentiments... or act out on them... then it becomes all of our problem.

Look at the similarities between all of us.. more then you do the difference!

I am of mixed race. Part Anglo Saxon, Part South Asian and part Spanish. I'd think... it is a good thing my parents and my parent's parents did not think this way.. or I most likely would not be here to write this!

Sorry but it's true, even if it goes the other way and you're forced to hire someone because they're a minority (when they're not the most qualified for the job). Maybe you're watching the NFL and say some thing like "Damn that Wes Welker is a fast White Guy" or "Wow, McNabb is a good black QB" ...or my favorite was last years Superbowl when they made such a big deal out of two Black Coaches and now there was a Black Coach that won it (lol...over looking the fact that one lost too).

Fact is with our government, media, and culture it impossible to "completely" nutrual. Everyone might not present it the same way as the KKK, but it's still there
