Did anyone see the CNN Special Investigations the other night....called "The Noose"??? It was really interesting...it amazes me that ppl think that racism is over...but its not....watch that show!!

I did watch some of that Hawaii I cried. As for those like unionworker or whatever the name was, that is the reason for the perpetuation, not all asians are whatever he said and not all people of the same skin color react the same. That is the definition of prejudice, to pre judge for whatever reason. Everyone is original and yes you can respect them for their originality without derogatory judgements.

We are still talking about this topic because it is still an issue and very real. Anyone who thinks racism doesn't exist is naive or blind. People are afraid of difference, and of things they don't understand. I think it is natural to prefer things or people that/who are comfortable, but it will be nice when it ends there, i.e. when people don't look negatively on the difference - just embrace it. Will it happen this century?

Why is a noose always related to racism. When outlaws ruled the west they hung people all the time. People hang themselves. I see it more as a sign of death than racism.

DonJulio...Here we go again, black folks use the n word in relation to each other as a an endearment. Maybe not good for them to do that to each other but it does not and will not mean the same thing as another race using it. Man I wish people would get over this. I'm pretty anti social and don't get out much, so i don't understand alot. Anyway, it dosn't matter what my race did before I was brought into the world, so why must I deal with the consequences and be told by rappers that I'm slow and stupid, just because of how I was brought into the world.

But rappers arn't real people, they are stupid people. All the black people I've met are pretty nice, some I know pretty well and can say "HAY NIGGA WAT UP!", and not be shot.

I think if people were more understanding of each other and everything, than there wouldn't be a whole thing of 'OMG YOUR INDIAN, I BET YOU CAN RAIN DANCE!" or 'OMG YOUR BLACK AND YOU DON'T PLAY SPORTS WTF!?"

I'm proud to be a country bumpkin where the whole community gets together all year long. Ice cream socials, fairs, community gatherings. Chicken dinner benefits. All of us seeing each other in church of our own denomination on sunday. Watchin each others homes and families and children. Everyone sharing bountiful harvests all the time whether its farm produce, deer, bear, elk venison, or just bringin a fresh apple pie or some fresh fudge to the neighbors. I've been back "home" 10 years now. I've travelled the world twice to 27 countries. I've travelled the complete us and half of canada. And there's no place like home. People are real. And I feel safe there. Where I live there hasn't been a murder in the county since 1973. Tell me urban living is better. I say you're wrong.

And earlier in the thread one of the race baiters compared racism to what women do in being selective and an unintentional swipe was taken at my intelligence at being who I am and boy did I find it amusing. Sorry if you didn't get the long joke. Read the complete thread. I did. Where I live there is no racism. What a wonderful place huh! Know why? Because there is no reason to be racist. Noone is bringing the racism into my community. It may be there. I don't see it. And I'm the most colorful, animated, outspoken, silly lunatic in town. They want me to be mayor. damitscloudy, remember rappers are the rebels, like rock music that is rebellious. They are the shockers, the jesters, they are in it to make money. So to hold the rappers responsible for all black folks would not be accurate. Most black folks of any sense don't even listen to rap. Rap gets the headlines because of the rebellious, shocking, push the limits, lyrics they use to sell the music.

It is not about blame, the black folks I know do not blame me for the crimes of the whites. It is the awareness and understanding of the trials and tribulation of a people here and to put into account that they are coming up from the oppression and degradation of the past. They are trying desperately to fight the existing racism and to live normal lives like the American dream promises all who live here. That is all.

Note ..I would not use the n word to any black folks even given permission as I to have been, because should you be addressing your friend and an older black person is standing by it would be disrespectful to the person who does not know you. You see?
