I've seen this on a few profiles: City "Unknown, Colorado" and "Unknown, California".

Are there really cities with that name?

Is this just a fall back when someone doesn't put in a city?

Or is this a red flag telling us about false people?

I have talked to a few just recently having the same on their profiles but when asked they can give you exactly where they are so I don't know why they put it as unknown....lolzzzz...still trying to figure out if they're scammers or not...

With all the varied spammers here if you aren't sure assume it is a fraud. Also look at others in the area nearby if they all appear as models you can assume its fake

When in doubt Google it, however the person could be real and just has an issue with an X or a stoker. If that's the case do you really want to get involved in that kind of a mess?

you really think "False" People are that dumb to put such an obvious Red Flag in their Profile?

Maybe they're paranoid people will stalk them? They don't want their spouse to find out it's them?
Just playing it safe in general?

If you are interested to know them further, take a leap of faith... but be sure you are wearing a parachute that works, just in case you can't fly.

There are some legit reasons why someone on a dating site would not want to share the city where they live... like being under the Witness Protection Program, for one.

This is a dating site, if someone contacts me with city unknown, I'm not interested. If they want to play games, I ain't playin'

in the age of ratters and stalkers and hackers,,

people may just be choosing to give only basics, and nothing more detailed to assist creepers in tracking them down

perhaps details they are more comfortable sharing after they feel comfortable with the person they share it with

they just skipped the city name when filling the membership, that simple
pfff

Unknow or BS answers to basic questions and I put the profile on delete. And often report.

My feeling is the legit people here that put down honest answers deserve full participation or clear the decks.

I get if you live in a little town most people have never heard of saying something near bye and I even get the concept of security what I do not get is lying or stupid that is not explainable.

I don't know and don't care enough to make a fuss, but I have been to some funny named American towns in my day. Truth or consequences, New Mexico is fun. I could see naming a town "Unknown."

Most of the obvious scammer mail I get, are from entirely fictitious places, obviously generated by a low quality scam computer program. You know, the ones where gorgeous damsels who live in Washington, Oregon, who write to me, because I live near Washington DC, and the stupid scam programmer was dumb enough that they didn't realize that Washington, Oregon, even if there was such a town, is no where near Washington, DC.

Heck, it's only a 30 minute commute, isn't it?

Actually due to glitches this is a known glitch lately.. Where you will see United States as their State..

So guess at times it helps to read the Help/Bug section prior to thinking they are all scammers/Fakes..

One may be calling someone out and it is not even their fault instead a system glitch~~

Always be safe but don't jump to conclusion too fast.... It might not be their mistake...

Yeah they're dumb....maybe because of too much people that they victimize they fall prey to their own words...and I just got one now with that "Unknown" in his profile...Lolzzzzz
