not worrying too much about disabling Adblocker,I worry more about that it made me to disable NoScript, which basically is installed to prevent Malware to install Scripts!
Guess I'll have to look for another line of Defense!

Didnt that proggie come with a setting that allowed you to disable it on this site only?
It's cos that AdBlocker blocker is a Javascript embedded in Mingle's HTML. So if you block that script with NoScript, the ads still can't run.
Maybe disabling it on here only, is sufficient. Provided it has such a setting, like AdBlocker

AdBlocker comes with an Option to disable on specific Sites only,so does NoScript!
I have disabled both on Mingle, and see Ads all over the place!
Still get the Popup-Block now and then.
But the problem is with Mingle sensing them, not with me having installed and disabled them!
They basically do not exist for Mingle,on account that they are not active here!
Not worrying though,all in a day's work!laugh
I am definitely not going to uninstall those Applications.

without Adblocker
(allow the illegals in)

if you are using Firefox then the following steps
for 1 session ad free (at least ads on top margins)

In Firefox right end corner
1. Menu Tab go to Developer (spanner)
2. Click on Developer --> gives drop down menu --> select Inspector
This opens 2 new windows at the bottom of M2 web page
Both windows contain html script.

On the left side Window (larger window with html - (call it adw1))
Top ribbon has Inspector tab (in ribbon)
Below it is another ribbon containing tabs

3a. select the tab with something like iframe#google_ads to it.
In my case it was:
iframe#google_ads_iframe_default_top_xyz (xyz are numbers)

3b. click on this tab (and smile)
the ad in M2 window should get a curtain of blue over it
and (smile again)
within adw1 --> a segment of the html script gets highlighted.

4. Click somewhere on the highlighted scrip (in adw1)
(it remains blued)
5. press delete.

a major Ad frame should disappear.
close the inspector window

it stays ad free for one session only.

F.y.i. Adblocker was sold out to Google last year
but that's another story.

Disclaimer: not html guy;
just a mechanic type: but it works cause:
with html pages nothing on your disk crashes
it may rain a bit in Google's Cloud though.
--xx--

Once you get the hang of it
then one can wade into the script

Now ads have a way of returning after some time slaphead
may happen when you move forums <--> topic (back n forth)

to make sure you get iframe#google_ads tab on the ribbon
(may have disappeared)

6. drag scroll-er down in adw1 & hover mouse over script

as you do so at some point the ad gets a flicker of the blue curtain
7. try to pin the line where the flicker occurred.

once done,
7. the iframe#google_ads tab appears on ribbon
rest you know:

8. click on iframe#google_ads tab
and the relevant html code segment gets highlighted

9. click on highlighted code, delete.

10. once you have 2, 3 pages freed,
using back arrows (left top) reduces the incidences

not fool proof but something.

Whole lot of work to stay on Mingle ...
If I have to do all that, every time I want to go to Mingle, I feel like billing them for the work I have to use their site laugh

Nevertheless, thanks for sharing!
I read elsewhere that it's easier to deal with in FireFox. I stopped using that myself a few years ago. Chrome was faster.

Didn't know that Adblocker was taken over by Google... I think Google is starting to become a problem... Their empire has got way too big.
You can't even fart anymore without them knowing it.

...Just thought I'd chime in here since the subject is one I deal with as well.

I think the problem people are having with ads is primarily the animated Flash ads. These things always have a nasty habit of eating up ALL your bandwidth and slowing your browser and computer, in some cases causing crashing and problems with the proper functioning of the web browser. I know how maddening this can be as I have experienced it all too often myself. I've been on websites where you literally could not do anything at all because of all the Flash and video ads (Cox Communications', Best Buy's and AT&T's ads being among the worst as these are frequently 1080p HD videos and you'd have several attempting to load at once). Thus AdBlock Plus was born to deal specifically with these and other annoyances. My least favorite are the stupid popup ads. You go to click on some link and BOING! up pops an advertising window that, depending on the site, either takes up the whole view or, even better, LOADS A WHOLE NEW INSTANCE OF YOUR WEB BROWSER! And often clicking the first window triggers a whole barrage of new popups to load, again overwhelming your computer and annoying you to the point of sheer utter violence.

Now recently, I guess starting a couple weeks ago, I got the "Ad Blocker Enabled" warnings from Mingle2 as well. I agree with the site's upper management department needing some kind of income to keep the free version alive, otherwise they would just have the paid-only Mingle Plus and no free Mingle2. I'm okay with adverts on the site if and only if the Mingle managers used non-animated picture or "banner" ads that don't use Flash Player or video streams to operate. I have turned off AdBlock Plus on Mingle ONLY, so that I can continue using the site and not be hassled by the "Ad Blocker Enabled" message every time I log in. But AdBlock Plus is still enabled for everything else, protecting me from slow-loading video and Flash ads anywhere else I go. Also, ad blocking plugins and software give some protection from cookies and other types of online tracking, potentially protecting you from sites collecting your browsing data and using it to try to sell you stuff through more ads. Also, I'm using Mozilla's Firefox browser which has a good deal of ad blocking and tracking protection features built into the program. For those of you who might be concerned, use Firefox. Otherwise, just turn off your ad blocker when using Mingle. I did and I haven't seen even one ad since. Could be an error or some unknown compatibility issue, but I haven't seen any ads even after disabling my AdBlock Plus browser plugin....

...Though my saying this is, by no means, intended to convey my permission to anyone to start cranking out the ads and popups. You have been warned!

because i get warnings from google that i have an extreme traffic sendin queries and it just started with these adds. i am pretty sure it is sth to do with the cookies these sites have rooted to my laptop.
i am not happy
it makes me think...
i am not any happy with having such a slowed internet just because of these adds.

Just install https://www.ghostery.com/try-us/download-browser-extension/ it's free and it covers all browsers and blocks trackers and ads and you can leave adblock disabled and no ads will appear. When installed click on the blue ghost icon next to the ad block plus icon in firefox and click restrict site. job done.
