Topic: Ads and using AdBlocker

I just got a popup saying I use AdBlocker and "please allow ads on our page because this helps keep our site free."
I couldn't get rid of that popup, so I had to open another tab.
I wonder, is this going to be a problem for me?
I understand you need the sponsors to keep it free, but I am not going to switch off AdBlocker. Flashing advertisements mess with my head, so then the site would become impossible for me to use.
Plus, I have no need to see a gazillion half naked women on my screen all the time.
So I'd like to know if having AdBlocker will mean I soon can't use Mingle at all anymore? Unless I switch off AdBlocker?
If that's the case, it would mean I will leave Mingle, which would be a shame, cos I like the forums and the people.

Same here! It happened 3 times.
When I declined it cut me out of Mingle2 & I had to clear my phone & log back in

I am NOT giving up AD Blocker either. noway
I was sick & tired of being redirected to play store, from this site.

Yeah, on my phone I do have ads here, cos I haven't got AdBlocker installed on my phone, haha.
But I hardly ever use internet on my phone cos I'm home most of the time, and when not home, I don't need to check the internet.

But on my PC I also am not going to disable it. What I have seen on my phone when I did go to Mingle once or twice, is that it's paradise city for incredibly annoying ads.
I'm not interested in Russian women, half naked women, and other chit trying to lure me to their (dating or escort) site.
And even if it were garden chairs, I installed AdBlocker for a reason, being I don't want to be bothered by frigging ads.

If there was a line saying "Sponsored by Walmart" (or whatever), I wouldn't mind. As long as it doesn't move, rotate or flash. My brain can't handle that, plus it eats up bandwidth and memory etc. as well.

Now..my Ad Blocker was over ridden!
I had to switch tabs twice.
It kept giving that damn taxi ad.
If I don't cut the tap it takes me to play store for the f@cking taxi app!
Oh hell no!

Boycott that taxi

Sassy, can you still get to your PMs?
I guess I could check 'em on my phone which doesn't have AdBlocker, but I really don't like internetting on my phone. Esp not with the ads. I can never find anything because of them.

Hello folks,

We're sorry about this. Unfortunately, in order to keep Mingle2 free for everyone, we must show ads in order for the company to survive.
With a growing number of people using Ad Blocker these days, we are struggling to keep the site free.
We believe it's better to show ads rather than charging all of our members for a membership (like most other dating sites). I hope you understand our decision.

If you do not want to turn off the ad blocker for only Mingle2, I suggest using our iPhone or Android app there are a lot less ads on the apps.
You can find and download Mingle2 in the iTune or Google Play store.

PM's ? Not sure if you mean M2 mail or personal email or texts or message service? But YES, I can access all of it. And most of it goes through the AdBlocker browser.
Fortunatly they make one for every device.
I don't use the M2 app, I tried that 3 times in 9 months. I just come in here thru the AdBlocker browser.

EDIT: If you mean am I stopped from getting to M2 email? Yes sometimes. The blocker normally stops it & I get a blank screen that asks ' continue'. I don't..
Not sure what will happen. So I switch tabs or go through 'history'.
ONLY today was my AdBlocker interrupted & struggling.
In that case I cleared my phone of as possible & deleted apps & disabled some (like play store) & started over.
I used a good security/cleaning app, 360 Security that tell me what other apps are doing or trying to do.
I wouldn't give that up either.

I understand the problem. But what is the point of a free site if it irritates the heck out of you because of moving, rotating and flashing ads?
Now it were static ads, maybe, maybe, I could live with that. Not the moving stuff.
I will not go to, nor stay on, such sites --> I want to enjoy my time online, not get annoyed. So if people stay away, that renders the free site thing pretty useless.
I can now not even edit my profile or change photos ...

Mobile phone, undo-able ...takes about too long to log in, need my reading glasses and my neck injury acts up ohwell

And again, I understand your struggle, but I do wonder how it is going to work out for Mingle. I mean, there's a reason ppl install AdBlocker, which is they don't want to be harassed by ads.
One sure way of making sure ppl leave a site, is by having (too many) ads.
I hope you can find another, better solution that works for everyone and doesn't PO people.

Damn it!
Now.. I can go full site & only view my options! I can NOT log out or do anything with a FULL page saying to turn off AdBlocker. It is not giving me the option to ignore it. It stays on the page.
I use both mobile setting & full site setting for different things.

Disable

Yep,and you will promptly get the Popup!
Was using NoScript, which prevents JAVA-Scripts,and if I don't totally disable it,the site won't let me see any Messages I have!

I still can not go ' full site', the notice telling me to disable AdBlocker still appears & locks.

Which means I can not write a testimonial, see when the last time friends were on..etc.

I am NOT happy about this at all. But I will not, disable AdBlocker

Try deleting your cookies .... I think that will solve the issue. ( you will probably have to login after that!)

not worrying too much about disabling Adblocker,I worry more about that it made me to disable NoScript, which basically is installed to prevent Malware to install Scripts!
Guess I'll have to look for another line of Defense!
Correction, still get the occasional Block, even though BOTH Apps are DISABLED on Mingle!
Have to refresh to get out of it!
Hope IT is able to finetune their Program some more,so it can discern between active and disabled Apps!
