Mmmmm yes,
Now that my parents are no more,

I realise that I did not spend enough time with them,
Instead I was off partying and discovering the world.

If I could back in time,
I would spend more time with them,
Especially from the time I was 15 and older.

My Parents have since passed, I made peace with them and they seen me well on my way..

But at far as looking back and feeling remorseful NO! making amends was part of getting sober for me.. I am at peace,,
The key for me is to not create a situation where I may have to one day make amends or feel bad

I usually apologize when I am wrong and try to make amends if I am given the chance so I don't tend to carry remorse in my relationships.

Yea there have been times I have felt I owed people and apology and I tried to do it at the time. Not everyone wants the apology or believes you are sorry. Kind of is Sorry is as sorry does.

I am with the thought of living your life in such a way you don't have to make amends to people. I made the choice very young not to drink/drug; seems like that gets a lot of people in trouble. I rarely if every borrow something, sure enough that is when you will mess it up or can't pay it back.
Hardly ever promise anyone anything. If you come through you are golden so it is better not to set up expectations that will come back to bite you.

I kind of like the the old saying "Never pass up a good time to shut up." One thing to talk into "space" in forums but in the real world it is the words you don't say you don't end up having choke you. Kept me out of trouble more than about a zillion times. lol

I do regret not telling a few people that helped me a lot when I was a teen how they really made a difference. If it were not for a few seriously caring adults that stepped up I would have hit the world with few skills.

I also appreciate the lawyer that helped me for nearly nothing after my husband died. My kids and I would have been so ripped off. Helped me feel the world was maybe not as unfair as it sure seemed at the time.

IT'S ACTUALLY BEST WHEN YOU APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR DEEDS AND MOVE ON. MY MUM WOULD SAY APOLOGIES WOULDN'T DIMINISH YOUR BEING; RATHER IT MAKES YOU A BETTER VERSION OF YOU
