IMHO, since I'm only looking for penpals, I don't need to see anyone's
pic to write to them and vice versa.

Don't understand all the concern.
If the lack of a picture bothers you that much,
DON"T TALK TO THEM.
If you don't like the pic posted,
DON"T TALK TO THEM.
I worry about the things I can control.
the rest, nothing I can do about it.
I want to see something, know something,
I ask.
Been told "NO" many times, found a friend,
most of the time.
Wonderful feeling to just take care of ME.

bored not everyone knows about more pics in the profiles-

when they are new. When I was new- I did'nt.

although I prefer to see who I'm talking to.. I've responded to pic-less
emails but I've always asked them to post a pic out of fairness in my
first response.. and if they DON'T, I'll question what that person is
hiding.. then discontinue our connection if they don't offer any viable
alternative(I've even explained HOW to post a pic) .. I feel it's out of
respect and forthrightness that they should post one if they're
responding to others.. it's just kinda hard to be attracted to a lil
square blue space..

I can understand perfectly why some people would not want to post their
pic on a dating site for all the world to see. But, if a man wants to
carry on a conversation with me, then I want to see what he looks like.
I don't like talking to faceless people.

Want to see my pic then actually look at my pro. Not hiding from
anything but do make you look.

Yeh I know Ms.Teddy everyone is different but even as a newbie myself I
realized that there this link that says "view all" to click once in the
profile area lol.

Not everyone is comfortable posting pix to a public forum where just
anyone can see them. You don't know who might see your pic and turn
into a stalker, (this happened to a friend of mine a few years ago)...

If you mean a romantic relationship, then yes, it decreases my
chances of having women-in-general take interest in me, but thats just
fine. Any woman who'd completely, categorically ignore a pic-less guy -
and not even take the time for some preliminary email exchanged - is not
a woman I'd want to be with, anyway. I don't mean that judgmentally,
its a matter of tastes. Those women can skip right over me, and we both
benefit.

Kntry, Zero, and Jean, I also agree with all of you that if I'm getting
to know someone, there comes a point - different points, for different
people - at which I want to have a face for who I'm talking to. Or a
voice. Or to see how their expressions change as they speak. Or see
their body language.
