hello everyone! i have had such a blessed day! for those of you that dont know, i have been having some financial problems and have been keeping it in prayer. well, here is how today went....i was desperately in need of some groceries and didnt have much money so i was looking for ways to make it stretch. i was making up a list at my mom's house b/c she was also going and she is peeking over my shoulder and running back and forth to her pantry giving me food. :heart: then my dad suggests a lower cost store that i have never been to and got some great discounts. :heart: then when i went to get my prescription which is usually $20, the pharmacist says that just this week, they came out with a generic form and it only cost $2!!!! :heart: God has begun to answer my prayers! Thank you Lord! I love You so much! :heart: :heart: :heart: :heart:

also, please check out my new thread called "for our troops" in general and send a card to our heroes overseas! thanks!

Timothy and JB welcome - you can have as much of the pork roast as you can handle.

The cranberry sauce sure makes it taste great, the recipe is so simple. I shall post it for everyone tomorrow.

Winnie, I noticed your post earlier about the cards. I shall finish checking it out and see about sending one.

A pleasant evening to all, and for those retiring for the evening as I shall be soon, sweet dreams!

Yesterday was a good day for me. I now have three friends showing on this web site. I feel like I have gained even more friends than that. As I go to church this morning I have people to pray for and things to be thankful for. Thank you all who have read my posts. A special thank you to all those who have responded.

What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

I now feel like I have friends to call together.

Good morning everyone!
I'm getting ready to take a cranberry/sweet potato casserole out of the oven for our Holiday Dinner at church today. Thought I'd stop in to greet everyone.
Britty, great minds think alike! One can never have too many cranberries!! Your roast sounds great.
Winnie, God is wonderful. I, too, am having some financial problems, but He has provided in unexpected ways, and is teaching me to trust. Bless you!
I'm off to get ready for church. I hope everyone has a very nice Sunday!

You bet, cranberries are great! I love making a cranberry and raspberry sauce and sometimes when I bake the squash - I put some of the sauce in the little well in each side of the squash (if you cut it in half). It looks good and tastes even better.

Hope everyone is having a joyful sunday. :heart:

Here's the recipe for the roast;

Cranberry Glazed Pork Roast
3-4 lb pork loin roast
Salt and pepper

3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
16 oz whole cranberry sauce
1/3 cup lemon juice

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place meat in shallow, not covered baking dish;
Season with salt and pepper. Roast 20 mins. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees, continue roasting. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine remaining ingredients. Over medium heat, cook and stir until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. After meat has cooked for 1 hour, drain off fat; spoon half of the sauce over the meat. Continue roasting 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until meat thermometer reaches 170 degrees basting occasionally. Spoon remaining sauce over meat; return to oven 10 to 15 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Refrigerate leftovers.
