Its called a self fulfilling prophecy the person filters what they attend to and the results follow...Surprisingly though if you look at any situation and decide to have a positive spin on it the result is likely positive or less serious due to the observers expectation..

a psychic just shows you a map of what could happen
that dont mean you wont hang a left where they thought you would hang a right

but with that being said there have been some good ones from time to time

the lady in the cave

delphi

Nostradamus

but who is to say what is true and what is what we see through shaded glasses <shrug>

No. Sorry - you can go with the Amazing Randi test that has turned up 0 psychics, but I prefer common sense:

Why aren't they winning the lottery?

Oh, I know - "It doesn't work that way!" Bullcrap. If they can "predict the future" or "see distant places" then they should be able to do simple things like "OK - there's a 10 digit number in this safe. I even left a light on inside of it. What is it?"

But no - it's always vague, or really obvious. "Someone close to you will get sick!" Well, odds are, everyone knows someone old/issues/whatever so when they do get cancer/ebola/the flu, it's just playing the odds.

I don't know what's sadder - the "psychics" who know they're full of crap and peddle their nonsense and prey on others, or the ones who have deluded themselves into thinking they have special powers.

Totally agree with you, no disrespect to others.

Well I have been twice to psychics.
In my 20's.
The first time, a gf talked me into it.
I was sooo skeptical.

The psychic said to me..."you don't see very well"
(I was wearing glasses) so I start to giggle.

Then she says, "Either you have been to Hawaii or
you want to go."

I just ran from the room laughing my head off.

The other time, I was 21 and visiting a woman whose
brother I was dating.

She said, "I am a psychic, would you like a reading?"
I thought, well, can't hurt (even though she said let
my cat lick your hand and the cat bit me.)

I recalled later only one thing she said.
She said, "You will marry a man 47 years old!"

(She was a wee upset as her brother was in his 20's.)
Well you can imagine, the first thing I thought was, oh,
guess I won't be getting married for a while, like 25
years! hahaha

So 5 years later I get married, the guy is 46.
I remembered what the psychic had said, and thought,
man, close but no cigar.

Then a year later I awaken in the night thinking of the
psychic...did some math and totally realized my hubby was
exactly 47 when I married him! He turned 47 and a month
later we got married.

So, I have been a wee freaked about that since.
While my skepticism is still red alert, that psychic sure
made a hella good guess!

i believe that at the ripe old age of 46
I do not know half as much as I thought I knew at 26

I believe there are things that lay beyond my understanding

do I think most of these people are used car salesmen? yes most are fakes

but I also think there have been people that have walked this planet

that seem to be able to do things not easily explained

Exactly. It's easy to discount people until they blow your mind.

I think there are a lot of con artist's in the world that study people and just pay attention in general better than others so they can have a better ability to guess.

But I also believe some people do have better intuition for lack of a better word and common sense so their guess is more likely to be right even if they believe they can know stuff.

There are a tiny percentage of people who I think really can know stuff they have no way of knowing but generally hide it because it freaks people out so bad. And then they get people be really hostile towards them because if they can tell some things, but not all, then they get attacked. Or at a minimum get treated like they are weird so they learn really quick to keep their impressions to themselves. Children will catch on that they are suppose to keep impressions to themselves at a very young age.

As far as following what a physic would tell me that would have to jive with pretty much with whatever I thought was in my best interest anyway. I would not pay someone for advice as if they had a skill of knowing the future generally.

I can't see me even listening to these people who call themselves "Life Coaches" because if I have learned anything talking to people over the years about their problems is usually they tell you the problem and the solution in the first five minutes and most of the rest of it is just filler.

Psychics, no... don't know any either.
Readers/healers, yes. Very good experiences with that, I sometimes do readings myself. Healings at times too, but I prefer doing readings.

Don't know the exact difference between a psychic and a reader, but intuitively speaking there is a difference.

There is & always has been much profit to be made & power to be had by individuals[scammers], claiming to be able to see into the future, into destiny, or to claim special knowledge of, "The Divine Plan" in god-like ways. That's just crap! lmao! Would I follow such charlatans, scammers, & self-proclaimed prophet-god-wanna-be's? Hell no! But, in rough, confusing times of extreme physical/emotional vulnerability; I would be a liar to not acknowledge the seductive temptation to believe in such "POWERS";}
However, do I believe in "Psychics"-as, in those individuals possessing a high level of what is defined as "Psychic Energy"? Yes, definitely. I actually ascribe to the theory discussed by Carl Jung in that psychic energy is inherent in every individual but dependent upon social, cultural, & personal biological influences; it is more highly developed in some than in others[Tribal &Shamanistic ritual & healing, ect.]. Jung defines this inherent inborn psychic ability as something we would refer to as "Intuition".
There has been much speculation that if only 20% of the human brain is able to be consciously accessed; then what "lost?" or yet, "Unrealized" function[s] are to be discovered in the remaining, 80%?

I believe that we all have great powers as humans, such as self-healing powers and the power to attract true love and great success, which have been hidden and are lying dormant within us because the art of unleashing such powers has been lost or deliberately kept from us by the powers that be so that they can further control us and our lives. We have greater strength and value than we realize.
