Topic: the apology | |

If I feel that something I said or did was wrong, I will apologize for that.. and mean it. As soon as possible or as time allows as I feel those type situations should be done in person or at the very least via voice.
We all say or do things at times that we regret later. But I will not apologize if I feel what I said or did was correct regardless of it a person wants a apology. |

What I hate is the 'Insult to Injury' apology.
That's when an apology starts with, "I'm sorry that you..." I try not to screw prople over, but I do apologize frequently for little things. |

.... when you do someone wrong.. are something wrong... . how quick are you to offer up an apology for your actions..?.. .... do you apologize immediately.? ..... or do you wait for things to cool down then off one up.. .... are do you never apologise at all.?. ... are you the type of person that feels.... that you don't owe anyone an apology for anything..hmm.. ... or perhaps you're the opposite.. you apologize for everything even though it is not your fault..?.. .. or do you let the apology go for so long... that it then becomes awkward and hard to carry out...hmm.. ..... personally.. I generally apologize as soon as I realize I made a mistake.... ... or at least until somebody tells me I have made a mistake...lol.. .. . if ive upset someone unintentionally I apologize straight away, other wise the guilt would eat me up. I never deliberately mean to upset someone, even if they were cruel to me in the first place. I even apologize for others peoples cruelness, and that has been mistaken for too nice on one occasion, because it can be perceived has I care too much, but that's just me, but that really hurts. even so, I wont change. people love the way I am and I do. so to answer your question, ''do you apologize for everything even tho its not your fault'' YES I think its best to clear things up as soon as possible, so I always apologize straight away. |

Some apologies are long overdue, and I'd hate for it to ever get to that point. I try not to let it fester for too long, otherwise if you don't have the kahunas to take action soon enough, it could turn into a very long wait, and the longer you leave it, the worse it can feel. You and the other person/people start resenting each other. You could have chosen to apologize sooner, but instead, you procrastinated. Never leave it unresolved.

I usually apologize when I know I have done something wrong. I also I apologize after I have thought a while of what wrong I have done, but I will not apologize if I know I am right about something.

I'm usually pretty quick to realize when I've screwed up and just as quick to offer an apology.
I have sometimes been accused of apologizing when apologizing wasn't my intent at all. For instance, if something I did or said hurt someone and I say, "I'm sorry," they sometimes will interpret that as an apology when, in reality, I'm not sorry in the least. I just feel enough for them as a person to be sorry they are hurt. Just because what I did or said hurt someone doesn't mean I'm sorry for my actions, just sorry you are hurt by them. No, I don't go around intentionally hurting people for S&G's, it just happens sometimes. |

I apologize immediately if I say or do something that hurts someone else.. or typically I'll start with the apology if I know before hand it might hurt someone to soften the blow, like "sorry if this isn't what you want to hear but..."
I'm very sensitive to how people feel as much as how I feel.. every action has a re-action, and I don't take any pleasure hurting others.. if I've done or said something wrong.. I'll be the first to apologize, I won't wait for the other.. I like things out in the open, honest and straight forward.. I don't play games nor will I encourage them.. I respect candor and accountability.. I won't be goaded into arguments OR into saying something I'll regret later on.. my dad taught me to THINK before I open my mouth, so I try to choose my words carefully.. however I won't apologize for WHO I am! mind you.. I might say something like "sorry if you don't like me.. but that's your problem, not mine" but I always take responsibility for my own actions, and try to talk things out as soon as time permits! |

I ask the magic 8 ball if I should apologize.

It gets on my wits end, when two friends fight with each other, and then wait for my response. I refuse to take any part in it. I'm on neither side. If they expect me to apologize for THAT, I'm better off keeping my distance. It's so petty.
