I just remembered how much I love the Texas accent. Any men here from Texas looking for a wife?

Lol Iam...I get 1st dibs

Seriously...I didn't take my ex husband's 401k or stocks and went down in child support. Why the hell should women get paid. If they decide to be a stay at home mom...the husbands income pays. Wake up

I'm always shocked when I hear Men that got married 3 times.

Does that mean they only have 12.5% of their chit left? surprised

IMO it would be insulting, as a woman, to be paid for doing what needed to be done for my family. This whole topic is insulting to men and women

.. if your partner stays at home ..when you work.. then you should give them an allowance.. a monthly allotment..
to do with what they choose...

Most marriages that end in divorce are over money and then the man ends up paying for it anyway. So, it makes sense to pay beforehand.
.. so we can write this into a prenub..yes.. x amount every month..
and then when you are myself.. are done.. you walk with nothing.. but what I have already paid you...yes...

.. where do I sign up

An intelligent person wouldn't need to be arrogant unless they had low self esteem

Otherwise they are who they are...like any person strong in who they are

Estelle I hope your husband insists you get a job while he stays home .. I am sure you will be happy to give him all your money and provide for him ... Right :-)

If I were a man I would hand over my paycheck to my wife but since I'm not into role reversal and I'm not a man, it's my gender identity you're asking me to change. That is a whole other question.

Why? The guy in this case is earning the paycheck. The woman wants one...she can get her butt out there. In my state it is community property anyway

Insanity I tell ya

Still waiting on the religious sources. I want to see wear the Bible talks about a woman laughing at a little pee pee

In many cultures a woman's parents were paid to seal the marriage deal, shouldn't women be paid today for this marriage deal?

You got it backwards. The bride's family paid the groom in most cultures for taking on her mouth to feed and to help finance the home that was to supposed to yield many children. The only time the groom paid a bride price is if she was a valuable worker to her family (perhaps a spinner or weaver) and he compensated them for the loss of their laborer.

So I would ask you - should the groom be paid to take her? Or should people just say, "hey, i dig you. Let's work together and make the most comfortable life we can for each other and enjoy ourselves until we die" ?

I hail from the country of Georgia in Europe. My parents paid for my brothers' weddings. That's how it works in my culture.

I believe that is financial abuse. The wife should get the check.
