My point is that smart men know that dominating women is not in their best interest. Men know that they are not by far the most powerful animals on the planet (they are so weak, they would not have survived physically without being smarter than other animals), but they have used tactics to control everything, including women. Maybe it is because they know their weakness that they feel the need to dominate so strongly?

thank you for bringing back some fond and fun memories.
as I was distracting my mind from my upcoming appointment, I was thinking a woman who so frequently throws around the words feminsts, gender equality and sexism probably hasn't had it come back to bite you in the azz.
( but then again maybe you have because you commented about being tired of men just sit there and laugh while you carry groceries).

anyway, I had to laugh when I remembered myself at home telling my brother and a male cousin about sexism and equal partners. they said, equal partners? ok pal let's see if you can keep up. we had 2 trees on our property that needed to come down. I ended up wielding the ax, chainsaw and rake just as much as them.
when we were all covered in dirt, sawdust and sweat my cousin said so when are we eating?
he thought I was supposed to cook after all that.
I replied I don't know equal partner what are you making us.
he said it was the woman's job to cook.
I asked if I had failed to keep up in their equality test.
instead of arguing he looked in his wallet and upon seeing he had enough money, he said come on guys, burgers are on me.
yep, we had gender equality that day.

that wasn't the only time.

it's also not such a bad thing for a guy to just want to be a guy and treat a woman like a lady. these same 2 guys have always been there. to help and to protect

I don't know why people think gender equality means being the same? Equality is only about supporting what the woman does and not dominating that's all it means to me.

domination can occur only if one lets it happen. submission is a choice. sometimes based on our own need to please. perhaps of conditioning where we doubt our own worth or skill. perhaps even fear.
when I left the relationship that was very destructive, my pride and dignity were in shreds. though he never raised a hand to me (although he tried once to bait me into a physical confrontation), me believing his words made me doubt almost everything about myself as a person.
but the thing is I ALLOWED that kind of treatment.
I made excuses for it and let it progress.

I'm confused as to why men either in the caveman days or now would think to control women when they are not a threat to anyone. I also see how much better the world would be if men would just support, protect and care for women, since they are the mothers of all and only will benefit all. It's perplexing to say the least, what a strange world.
