have you or do you feel like you have outgrown your city or town....
.. Edmonton is quite large... but compared to Toronto New York our Vancouver. it is really quite small..
. it just does not hold... the excitement the alure it used to...
.... the romance for me is gone...

Don't they have some big mall there?

I grew up beachside in California.
ALL towns are big there.
Too big.
No small-town feel anymore.

Now I live in a truly small town on the Oregon coast.
I luv small towns now, you know so many people.
You have camaraderie, when tourists get stupid we all
laugh at them :-)

I left Glasgow, when I left school just before I turned 18. Went to London, got a trade, then went to work in France and Germany. Came back to Scotland when my oldest kid came to stay with me and I'm happy and settled here once again. If I want to go anywhere now it will only be on holiday. Scotland, is my home!

. yes West Edmonton Mall..
. but after you have been there for the hundredth time... even that loses its luster..... I can understand why you like a small town.... but personally..
. I would go postal if I had to live in a small community...lol... I don't know I crave excitement I crave.. adventure..
.... I was thinking earlier I should pull a Forrest Gump.... walk from one coast to the next coast..... but then I had to be truthful with myself.... I can barely walk 6 blocks before my hips start to hurt...lol

NEVER. if anything the town has grown to much. i too prefer the small town feeling. and for me the big towns are only 15 min away and the big city of boston is only about 45 min depending on traffic

Never, in my life, have I ever spent more than just a couple years in any particular town.

I would prefer a smaller town......where you know your neighbours....have more space to live and breathe.

P.S. I stay away from West Edmonton Mallnoway

It is not uncommon to think a change in location will make a change in your life, my personal experience is that it works for a short time but ultimately everything catches up with you and you are right back where you started, with all of the same issues just in a new location. It is one thing to desire something different, a faster pace, more options like night life etc and go after it but to believe your life will be better just because you go somewhere different is like believing the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

I live in a very small town and love it. I just get bored easily living in the same place for a long time, but I don't feel I've outgrown the town. When I move, it will be to another small town. I could never live in a city.

it's a bit of a two sided coin , really..
on one side continuity is nice... familiar places.. going back and visiting neighborhoods you grew up in... driving past your old elementary or junior high school.. my mind gets flooded with memories...... but then I start to feel melancholy a little sad..
... like I'm still here I'm still in this town this city... I cannot go to too many places in my city that don't hold a memory of one kind or another for me...... some good but some bad...
...... it has just been ,over the last few years... that I have just become very bored with my surroundings... I am fearful I will die here....hmm..

..yes.. when I'm sitting in my backyard.... looking up at all the fully grown mature trees... I can imagine I could be almost anywhere in the world... the change of scenery does not change your ... life choices I guess.. and yes issues will follow you no matter where you.... I'm just speaking of boredom... you know the same old grocery stores the same old..
.... places to dine out.... just the same old everything..... my biggest issue is.
. I Drive a lot for work.. I travel throughout the whole city..... which has become a bit of a detriment now...
.... I often realize.. the people living in a subdivision..... never really venture outside of their own sub division... except to go to and from work....
... nowadays all the new subdivisions are self-contained... their own grocery store their own hardware store... their own everything.....

....

Wot city?

I done an upgrade when I left my ex. With him I lived in a small village for 10 years, just short of 350 villagers. A church and a tiny piddly little pub where the only amenities.

Now I live in a slightly bigger village with ... 1347 inhabitants!
There's a small supermarket, 2 take away restaurants (pizza and fries & snacks), a small warehouse and a few pubs even! What more can a girl want! Oh dang... yeah.. forgot.. Prince Charming!

But I like it. I'm not a city girl.

As for getting bored.. nah... So far I've moved house 17 times in my life.

I don't know that anyone could really outgrow NYC

See, the secret is..live IN a small town NEAR a
large one for whimsy :-)

My town is about 10,000 which can swell up many
times over, during parts of the season.

I like to visit the big city, but prefer the peace
of the small village.

You are reflecting upon mid-life issues, which can
give you wanderlust, to add to your other lusts :-)

You need SOME changes, somewhere.
And you seem to know it.
Go for it.

. then what... you going to show me around the farm land..lol... holding back my excitement..lol...

..... sometimes you think you are a big fish... until you realize... you are only a big fish because the pond you are swimming in is so small... move that big fish to a ocean.... he is now nothing more than a minnow..lol

.. making change...... seems unrealistic.....
