It's amusing how many of the females on this site that I have come across have seemingly unrealistic requirements like a knight in shining armor or "the one" and he has to have all these ridged specifications about himself before she will respond to you. Nearly every chick leaves their info blank and under about me they just say "hi". 98.7% of them never respond then almost every time I see that I'm messaged or matched with some one I get online and their account is deactivated then most don't ever appear to ever log in. I've been on this site for over four years and only met one girl one time and it turned out she lied on her profile. She said she drank and smoked then says she hates it. Says she's slender but is actually heavy set. I'm close to killing my profile at this point.

I just saw in my emails that I was messaged a week ago. By the time I logged in to read it and respond the account was deactivated. frustrated

You've actually been on this site for just over 5 and a half years and now you're just starting to participate in the forums where most of the real people are? Seems like all that time has been wasted, as if people get to know you on the forums you'll stand a better chance of meeting someone. Wish you all the best, ok?drinker

I had one this morning...a friend request. Hit the name and "deactivated". It's just Mingle somehow doing something to try and protect us. The women who just say "hi" and/or have nothing in their Physical appearence/lifestyle section, bunch of tell you laters, are either scammers or hustlers.

I can understand a man like me having plenty of time pass before someone decent looking would be interested but I know someone is out there. I've had many girlfriends and a wife of 25 years even though I'm bigger but I don't understand many, many, really good looking ladies (on their profiles anyway) still on here after a year or more. Like you said, looking for that "perfect" man. Let's face it...if there's a perfect man or woman they won't be on a dating site would they?

All I wish for is the courtesy of answering back. Almost never, when writing a hello and mentioning something I like about their profile, do I get a response. Even a simple "no thanks, not interested" is better than a total ignore.

I've been a member for three years and haven't used the forums. Something I just noticed is that one doesn't have any idea of the person's 'grouping' unless you click on all the photographs to find out. Could be a negative in terms of a search!
I live in a very small rural community, limited supply of 'eligible' men though I travel a fair bit but don't meet men the way I do that or maybe it's just me :-(

I don't believe I have deleted this site and came back might have been another one deleted and then stayed off ... but do know this site want some to upgrade and pay for connections with men or women ... I kinda feel if I am going to pay for it... it will not be on the web laugh I have found the forums to be pretty cool and have stay for them ... most are ok ... but you will always have trolls catfish cheaters fwb on ever site to deal with ... but if u stay in the forums some are very nice and have fallen in love and have relationships ... so it is not all bad here ... good luck as they say ... and the monitors are really cool ask them anything and they will tell you how to put this site to better use for you ...oops got op and someone else mixed up ...

I have been here since '07. When it was Just Say Hi. I have met many wonderful folks here and even my fiancee. When he passed away 4 years ago, I came back here for courage and support, and got it from a wonderful mingle family. Now having said that, I am ready to date again and when the time is right he will find me. (Lightning will strike twice.)

Now my opinion is that maybe some of those gals expectations are a tad bit too high for your tastes, but they might have lived through things that have got them to that point. JMO. Any whoo, join the forums, get to know folks and be patient. Your perfect partner is out there, but they just have not joined Mingle yet. Good luck.

that's what my last X g.f. wanted
she said i failed her test when we went from a min. of 5 hours video calling a day to , i was lucky if i got a text a day

she said all her past boyfriends had failed the test
all i can tell you is after 3 weeks of next to no replys , that i thought she had found someone else <shrug>

she said it was a test .... i never thought ignoring the one you are sappose to be in love with would be a good test lol
<shrug> what do i know , i am just a guy

i blame the movies and books for a lot of it
they see a movie of a life time of events and only a few are picked to make the cut .... or a book of fantasy writen by a female ment to hit all the marks

any who
best wishes on your hunt : )

I believe that Mingle would do well to deactivate or at least not attempt to match profiles that have been inactive for an extended period of time. I have wasted so much time with the mutual match
system only to realize most of the matches are bogus attempts to keep me hooked on the site and keep the advertising dollars rolling.

It is here in the forums that I can meet the people of this community who are really participating and making an effort.

Perhaps you are experiencing the new world 'order' in which we believe we can have anything online shipped to us with free shipping.

I don't know where I heard it a long time ago but I am reminded by your post. These women are "Looking for a custom fit in an off the shelf world".

They will realize that someday. Perhaps everyone will come to understand the wisdom in those words.

Good Luck.

bye now...

It also clear that when I receive a mutual match the woman is not the one to take the initiative even though she has clearly received an email telling her so. A clear sign that she expects to be perused rather that engage in a mutually beneficial conversation.

Soo sad.

I've felt this way from the first time I joined my first dating site several years ago. I absolutely don't mind a "no thank you". Peeps have truly lost some basic manners. frustrated
Sorry, kinda got a little off topic from OP.....I do agree that the younger, never-been married type of peeps probably have some unrealistic ideas about "how to find the right man or woman". however, I do believe in the fact that there is someone for everyone so just keep your own ideas for what you want, move forward and she will turn up eventually. biggrin Good Luck

some people don't reply to anyone they don't know (like me) and I even stated it in my profile. I get tons of emails and I have a cartoon as a picture. I don't reply no thank you because it would take up more time than I want to give especially when it's clear they didn't read my profile.

There are many reasons people don't reply. It happens.
