Topic: Why do so many women use old pics on dating sites

Well, personally, I do not take selfies. ( I would not want to break my phone.)

I take horrid photos. I truly believe someone switches me out with a troll on all my photos. That can't be me! It sure is not the person I see every morning in the mirror.

Secondly, the one and only photo my Aunt took of me is the only one that I look like me. ( Jean jacket photo. ) Yes, it is old, yes, I wear glasses all the time now, and yes, my hair is different. Yet it is the same face.

So that is why I have an old photo.

As we age I understand we don't look the same as we did 20 years ago. But age gracefully and be proud no need to hide behind 10 yr old pics. We want exactly what we are looking at here

For the same reason(s) so many men post pics with their shirt off?....

lol agreed!

"Women" are not the only gender guilty of this charge...*grins*

Dearest Men,

Please do not use profile pictures or send snaps featuring the following characteristics:

Photos that do not bear any resemblance to your actual, real-time physical appearance.
Photographs of your self, displaying a dead fish/or some other poor critter who met a tragic end due to your efforts.
Photographs of your self leaning on your car/ motorcycle, boat, or tractor, ect. Photographs featuring a beloved dog, cat, gerbil, ect. Photographs of landscapes, sunsets/sunrises, or other geological phenomenon.
Photographs of your self with a woman [also in the picture] scrubbed-out with a pin/ or crossed out by with black marker.
Photographs of yourself, holding your babies/grand-babies; photos of yourself, holding "someone else's" baby...;}
Photographs of yourself that feature your [unattractive] nakedness or private parts.
"Selfies" that are visually impossible to discern due to blurriness, darkness, & poor pixel quality.
*
Cyberspace is a place where, "Let The Buyer, Beware..." In that vein, please do not take offense at any request to share a webcam conversation with someone. Although, webcam imagery can be falsely manipulated, at least the margin for an unpleasant surprise is some what minimized;}

Thank you, in advance for your attention to this post,
Most sincerely,

So basically, men, don't post any photos because women don't want to see that!
rofl rofl rofl rofl

-Just reverse the gender directive in the post cuz I would bet that most men feel, somewhat in accordance with profile pictures that women present;}
To me, there's nothing, more low-life than contrived & deliberate deception. Certainly it's not the way to begin any positive kind of relationshipwhat

I absolutely love this. I do believe men are worse about this than women. But then I see more male profile pics than female.

Some use old pics, cos if you saw them today what they really look like, you'd probably run away in the opposite direction, with sparks coming off your shoes!!

When I see pictures on profiles ranging from 20 years to current doesn't bother me a bit. I actually have a picture on my profile dating back to I think 07...then I think the next oldest is from 12 or so somewhere in that range.. The rest in the last year 2 of mine were taken in the last month.. My main pic was taken less than a week ago.

I take pictures with a grain of salt...
If you aren't who you say you were then, I am done
I wish you a great day and I leave.. Period..

I know Pancho's pic holding the bowl of flowers was in the last two weeks.
Yepp he looks pretty much that way.. He knows I look like I do..
No biggie..

I have been on Mingle before it was Mingle and have a range of pictures spanning the time. Are the pictures always recent? No but then I don't stand in front of a camera all that often. Usually a special occasion or family thing that I don't see advertising to the world.

My experience is people see what they want to see and if you put a new selfie or live feed every time you came on line they would complain.

Some are lucky and are photogenic or just have the assets through no fault of their own or a friend that knows how to take a complimentary shot. Lighting is a lot of it. The other is the upbringing to have good taste in clothes or body language. I can make almost anyone look like a dream boat with a good digital camera but doesn't mean they have personality, character, or look like that in those first nerve wracking moments of the first encounter.

Be real; people are not likely going to put pictures of themselves when they look like hell which in day to day life is more often than not at least once or twice a day. Believe me you all are fortunate I have not put up current pictures recently; being sick I look like death warmed over for a while for sure. Most people know when that is and everyone has those spells.

What I can not figure out is with free options out there to talk on a live feed why would anyone not insist on it before they wasted any real time, emotion, or the energy of meeting in person if they had not ?

What else bugs me is sooner than later what is in a picture is going to change just as the face you wake up with from one day to the next so if you are looking for constancy in presentation you are fooling yourself.

Not all women do that. All my pics are from this year. Plus i have had more problems with mens ages not matching up with their pic. For example.... The age said 35 but the pic looks like he is 50! I came across several of those.

At 56 I am proud of my body and I am also adult enough to be classy and respectful to all. Judging a book by it's cover is a sign of insecurity and something I try hard not to do

:laughing: She isn't judging a book by it's cover because there is no cover on the book!

I don't think anyone is insinuating that you should be ashamed, they are saying that it seems a sign of insecurity on your part that you feel you have to show your belly instead of your character to gain interest. Same as they might show a picture of their youthful beauty to gain interest. But all women have beauty, you just have to have the talent and ability to see it.

And, yes, I'm a tub...But while I will say I'm not proud of it, I am certainly not ashamed.

Still keep my first and only back when getting on photo with the Grizzly Bear in Alaska, but it does not look as young as the most recent ones because of the shape I keep my body in these days.

Some are proud how good we agewinking
