Considering she will fall approximately 313.6 meters in 8 seconds and then needs another 30 meters minimum to land after opening her parachute, it really does depend on how high the building is. I hope they chose a building over 400 meters. If not, then he betrayed her

If we are being forced to choose, I have to say the woman betrayed the man, for the simple reason that she came prepared with the parachute. The man could have not-jumped simply out of a momentary fear, or a last-second hesitation (or eight-second hesitation), but the woman knew she was not going to die as soon as she packed the parachute. (Operating on the reasoning that while she could have chosen not to open the parachute, why would she pack it if she wasn't planning on using it?) The man can still commit suicide by jumping, if he wants, but she can't. This would be a similar difference as between "pre-meditated murder" and "manslaughter". Though there are some important questions to ask that are not made obvious in the description (joke?): Did they count to three simultaneously, or one after the other? Did the man also have a parachute? Was the pact to "commit suicide [together]", or was the pact to "jump off a building?" How tall WAS this building? Were there any third parties nearby who might have given either of them pause? For example, did they leave any children behind? If life was so hard, where did the woman get the money to spend on the parachute? (Assuming lack of money was one of the problems.) Did the man in fact jump later, after he saw that his wife/significant other abandoned him to die? (That would depress me.) Were either of them on medication, and/or had serious mental problems? (Like paranoia or inability to trust.) Were penguins involved in any way whatsoever?

They both made the decison to die, but the woman lied and came prepared to land safely so she lied about her decision and xpected the man to jump and die she betrayed him he just chickened out

It is impossible that they did not betray each other equally. They both agreed to die together, and they both changed their minds. AND they planned on continuing a life without the other.....Hmmmmmm....Shitty story, either way....lol

It couldn't be done unless it was done from the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, at 818 metres tall and even then it would take 17.9 seconds to hit the ground at a terminal velocity of 121.5mph, which would be achieved after you fell 149 metres. So split second timing would be needed, to open a parachute, after the woman had already dropped for 8 seconds.

I think they betrayed each other and there is a life lesson coming up which this is merely a parallel to. Am I right or wrong?

Hope you are keeping safe in Nigeria from the Boko Haram Lady,when i finally post the 'likely' answer(report of my investigation in the case) nearly if not all shall agree that thats the 'correct' answer. Boko haram islamic terrorists are wrecking havoc and mayhem here! Wish i have a good friend that would invite me for a visit so i can have at least a temporal respite from the sounds of bombs and ugly sights of decapitated/mangled bodies of hundreds of their innocent vcictims.Including a pregnant woman in labour whose child came out half way but even in that condition,she wasnt spared either. The sight could melt the hardest steel heart. Thanks for your concern.

both betray to each other duh hahaha and tha's funny maybe he/she thinks if he/she really love me he/she willing to die for me. and that's why they decided to jump together but they havent think one of them is not prepared to die.. :) :0

Obviously, the woman's fake boob job was a parachute and a reserve chute so she was deceptive much earlier. The man, no longer wanting to be with Dolly Parton, had learned to live in fear of those things crushing him, making him into a coward! The man was betrayed!
