I have been around many 'intelligent' people in my life
I have no judgment of 'intelligence' however, for me, the point of communication is to be understood, I wouldn't go to a room full of English speakers and speak in Spanish,, and add insult to injury by claiming I didn't wish to 'dumb down' my speech people use different vernaculars and dialects,, I am in a field with a lot of very intelligent people , most of them know of their intelligence and make sure they announce it and point it out to people at every shot,, I steer clear of them because its annoying some, like my good friend, is just as intelligent as any of them but she has never felt the need or desire to announce it or otherwise advertise it,,,,,she just IS,, no need to advertise or gloat or prove it to anyone she is one of my favorite people,,, not only is she just as intelligent without all the ego,, but she is just as intelligent while also studying for her MBA in business and raising a newborn child,,, that TRUE confidence,, is appealing the arrogant confidence is not,,, this is not about anyone specific, just about the difference between being turned off by intelligence and being turned off by things like ego, cockiness, arrogance,,,etc,,,, |

Not at all. If their intelligence is at the level they claim, finding a solution to their predicament should be easy.

I don't necessarily dislike intelligence, but a woman who is exceptionally educated just isn't as appealing as one who would be more likely to ask me about something. interesting ...there is intelligence ...then those... they just say if I new the answer ...I would not have asked ...and I will get you the tee shirt that says ...I don't know please... no one is that intelligent tho may think they are ...but no ? your life might as well be over ... confident sure ... but all intelligence no ... some both men and women are afraid to ask another out or even approach becouse of the way they look does not always have to be or feel more intelligence then the other ... they got the look

The biggest obstacle I have had to overcome on this site is sounding too "pretentious" or "superior." I am someone who is very confident in her intelligence, so I don't try to dumb down my use of language. Unfortunately, many guys see this as a negative. As far as I can tell, they are either threatened by the prospect of a smart woman being able to see through their bullsh*t, or they just don't find intelligence attractive. What is your opinion? Do you subconsciously judge people based on their intelligence? Intelligence is sexy. If a guy has a problem with your intelligence, he's not for you. Perhaps he's intimidated for some reason and that's why he acts as if it's a negative thing. |

Yes singemesweet I agree but most of the women too don't like decency and intelligence here ..... they only pretend to shw wht they are ..

Intelligence doesn't require introduction or boasting off it appears as soon as u encounter those who hv it ...People who knows less spill more to equalise themselves with intelligent ones ..

Yeah; I was thinking she needs to upgrade to better men. At her age (19), she can probably upgrade easily.

intelligence and ego are two different things...
most find it difficult to be around anyone who is self inflated, male or female... why... all their negative feedback about others is automatically correct, but no negative feedback about them is correct... hum... ego... self is smart, but many others are not, hence their feedback is deemed "incorrect", or not valid... it ends up a one way street... my dumb rule of thumb is always, i will accept all their "negative feedback" as valid, if they will accept all my "negative feedback" as valid... i will do and speak as they tell me "i should", if they will do and speak as i say "they should"... that usually runs off the ego manic's who just "feel smart", by only choosing to believe any they can find to feed them "positive" feedback about them self... but truly, in a world where "critique" is commonly viewed as an assault against the self, learning to speak unsuperior, and unaccusatory, will become more profitable and advantageous every day. peace |
