Topic: Is time travel possible? | |

The twins would be the same age, don't let them fool you. Yes chronologically |

i watched "interstellar" yesterday, and it was the biggest bunch of crap ever...
they pointed out before they landed on a planet orbiting a black hole that for every hour they were on the planet, 7 years would pass for everything not on the planet... no, time travel(like that) is not possible, but i do entertain the possibility that different dimensions could have "doorways" that could lead to other times frames... |

Mightymoe...!
I'm shocked! YOU, actually entertain the thought of different dimensions? None of them subatomic...? Or Spiritual? |

Mightymoe...! I'm shocked! YOU, actually entertain the thought of different dimensions? None of them subatomic...? Or Spiritual? since i don't think there's a heaven or hell, i don't include them as part of dimensions... just different realities |

Funny...
I think of Heaven and Hell as the same dimension ! |

Funny... I think of Heaven and Hell as the same dimension ! like i said, i don't think there is a heaven or hell... just a preachers way of controlling people... |

But, You like the idea of 'doorways' that lead to other time-frames?
A doorway...? Like what... The Twilight Zone? (Reference To An Old T.V. Series) |

But, You like the idea of 'doorways' that lead to other time-frames? A doorway...? Like what... The Twilight Zone? (Reference To An Old T.V. Series) doorway, for lack of a better term... entry point? golden arches? wormhole? pearly gates? hole in the ground? you choose the one you like |

I guess where I'm trying to go with this, is, why isn't a realm of energy or spirit not a feasible concept?

I guess where I'm trying to go with this, is, why isn't a realm of energy or spirit not a feasible concept? a matter of wording, i just don't call it heaven or hell... but you can call it whatever you like |

Actually, that is exactly how the GPS system adjusts for time dilation. Interstellar had a physicist, Kip Thorne, as an executive producer who make sure the physics of the movie were correct. What was in the black hole was not physics, it was just movie. The Science of Interstellar video is a good explanation of the real science that went into the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuE8YX7IZGw |

Watched a video on youtube earlier, that had a woman walking about talking into what looked like mobile phone, in a Charlie Chaplin film from 1928? Weird!

Time effected by the Doppler effect?
Time effected by the Doppler effect? no, the transmissions affected by the Doppler effect... |
T=1/F
F=1/T |
T=1/F F=1/T ok, thanks, i think? |

Time and Frequency are inverses of each other.
I precieve time and frequency as relative increments of flux.
Time, usually just means a larger increment of movement. My spring-wound clock, with its pendulum, keeps time. My electric alarm clock, with its 60 Hertz per second of frequency, also keeps time. |
