This is all pretty new to me and when I signed up I signed up on several different sites however most of my "matches" and the men that have emailed me are not my type nor whom I selected as what I was looking for(age etc.) however there is this one on another site who I find adorable (picture) and we are similar, looking for the same things etc.

Sounds good right? Well its one of those sites where you can send a few little pre made "flirts" back and forth like I like your picture,I'd like to talk to you etc.) which we have been doing (He contacted me first btw) but now we have run out of those and have to join and pay a monthly fee in order to be able to talk (email) so I want to join and chat with this guy BUT in the same breath I think he should want to join to talk to me and I don't want to seem desperate by making that first move but maybe that would just be bold and show assertivness???

Funny dilemma huh? who pays first to email someone??? LOL

What do ya think? How would you handle it?

I have recieved flirts on that site that seem very out of the ordinary. I don't feel that I'm the greatist catch in the world but I don't think I'm bad one either. The people flirting seem to not be my type or a type that would normally be attracted to me. I was planning on joining anyway for month to try it out so I will tell you if it is ligit or not to save you a dime.

marie..

I also belong to Singlesnet.com. Believe me, I'm not sure how it is in CA. The men here in NY...basically are PIGS. That site was terrible, full of men that want to scam you. It wasn't worth the $$$$ I spent. The men of JSH are much nicer, more down to earth. Just my 2 cents worth...

I hope it works out for you...

That's why I came here, it has always been free and I've met some wonderful friends on this site. I am slowly getting to know each and everyone of them and hopefully my Vixen is among them.

Geeeez...yep let a bunch of strangers tell you what to do!!!

Where's your mind?

If you want an apple for lunch, and have none in the fridge, do you go and buy one, or ask the neighbours what you should eat for lunch?

If you want the apple...you want to experience the taste...

GO BUY ONE!!!

there's my 43 cents worth..laugh laugh laugh

Search other free sites for his zip code and age and height...things to narrow it down, and you may find him on another site. I did that with a friend I have now. He may be on a site that is free like here or myspace, hoverspot, fubar, etc

I was a paying member of that site for 3 months last year (primarily because they seemed to have the most people in my area), and I received e-mail from 174 of their members during those 3 months. It was fairly clear that 170 of them had not even read my profile all the way through (almost all of the notes came from locals, many of whom tried to get me to meet them at local bars), and the other 4 eventually disqualified themselves on other grounds.

I let my paid account lapse after May 2006, and I still average one or two new messages per day there, primarily flirts, but I do get the occasional e-mail from a paying member.

I have heard (this is unconfirmed, but might make sense from a business perspective) that they will send lapsed members notes and flirts, etc., that aren't exactly "legitimate," as a means of getting people to sign up (and start paying) again.

For me, it really wasn't worth $24.95 a month....your mileage may vary!

I used to pay money to have women delete my emails and not respond. Then I found out that they'll do it here for free!

 You can access and read the PlentyOfFish Forums without being a member, tey have a section called
(Off Topic)
in this section, they list all of the top ranked Free Internet Dating services and they tell what they do...

POF also gets paid to advertise for every internet Dating out fit there is...

I came here from ConnectingSingles, where you can be banned for bad mouthig the site of talking about other sites...

But it seems to me that the most successful sites don't really care if their members talk about other dating sites or not, because No Muss No Fuss atracts more happy clients...

Just think there are still millions of people paying $75.00 to $250.00 per month to outfits like GreatExpectations only to be used, abused and ignored...

But over here we can have all that and more absolutly FREE!!! flowerforyou

Well so far no good, I've been flirted with every day but nothing that would suggest it is anything other than an automated bot. I tried to contact the people who flirted and said they wanted to talk to me only to be rejected. they would answer flirts but nothing else. furthering my belief that they are not real people but programs trying to get my money. The two that did e mail me had full accounts but their pictures were deleted after contacting me and their accounts changed. They instructed me to contact them off site so i made up a new e mail addy on yahoo to do so. when I heard back form them I found out they were not from Kentucky or New York as their profile said but that they were in fact from Russia. I personally think this site is a bust.

I guess it doesnt really matter who contacted first.
Two months ago when I was browsing on profiles I got attracted with someone's pic, not him but his drawing so I emailed him and I got a quick response. From thereon we kept our communication in a daily basis, though its pretty hard to keep such schedules because we live in different timezones. Now I am happy with him (regardless of physical contact), he's got plans of visiting me soon, and that is what I am looking forward happy

So Calil, if you think you really want to talk to someone dont hesitate to do so, who knows he is the one you are looking for. Anyways, goodluck! flowerforyou

There are plenty of sites out there that are free but if you feel that this a chance you might not have again than go for it. But from experience i would keep looking on other sites that are free. good luck to you!drinker
