A Thank You to our soldiers....

I love little puppies with big sad eyes
I love meadows, with clover and butterflies
Cool mountain breezes, and cold night air
A last second roadtrip, destination, who cares

Walks on the beach, and children at play
A "Mom & Pop" diner that's out of the way
Food from a campfire, water from a stream
A smile from a friend, chasing a dream

Clouds in the sky, watching storms in the rain
Colors of Autumn along country lanes
Snow on a mountain, birds singing in trees
The sound of the wind, the buzzing of bees

Old country houses with ponds full of geese
The wind in my hair of a soft Summer breeze
The sights, smells and sounds as I walk through a forest
Singing along to my favorite songs chorus

So here's to the soldiers off fighting for me
To enjoy things I love, and let me live free
Offering their lives not for oil or power
But to give us this freedom from hour to hour

im prior service with the marine corps, and i just gotta say that what you wrote was powerful man. thank you for it. keeps us motivated to know we're out there fighting for people who support us. thanks man.
