Just a little information from the CDC.gov website for informative purposes could help out a little, indicating that even condoms cannot guarantee immunity from being infected by STD's.

http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/stdfact-herpes.htm

Add to this a growing number of other STD's which can easily be spread, makes taking the risk of even having a "protected" one-night stand like playing Russian roulette. Then there is the sometimes traumatic treatment involved with getting the cure for that disease (if there is one for that particular STD) Interestingly enough, even the CDC states that the way to avoid these issues are: Abstinence, Vaccination, Mutual Monogamy, and a Reduced number of sexual partners. So that's it from the CDC. Hard to argue with their LOGIC.

Ermmm Cowboys point of semen staying active in a womans body for 7 days has absolutely nothing to do with "promiscuity, casual sex or one night stands" and everything to do with VERY poor health choices.

In fact, my experiences tell me the most promiscuous are the ones taking the most safety precautions for themselves and others. There's always the exception of course but no... being promiscuous does not mean practicing UNsafe sex. Am I being clear enough?

Has everything to do with it, how do you think these diseases and what not get spread? Through exchange of bodily fluids. And the semen remaining in the vagina has nothing to do with hygiene. No matter how much she washed the outside, the semen would still remain in her. The fluid that could potentially carry the disease would still be inside her for close to 7 days. Of course that's not an exact number, just a possibility, would differ woman to woman. All I did was point out the possible negatives of this form of action eg., one night stands and or casual sex.

Now, if I had seven wives or seven girlfriends, I could have one night with this one and one night with that one and so on totaling a bunch of one nighters!

Who would ever want that lol. That's to much to keep up with and way to much love to try to spread out. Think it would work much better to bundle all that care up and give it to one person, meaning from your example that one woman would be 7x as much care and love then any one of those other 6 lol.

True... I can barely keep up with one to be honest..

exactly how I see it lol. It's hard enough keeping up with women changing their minds all the time as it is lol ... /runs

@cowboy... You have not a clue of what I'm trying to say.

Promiscuity does NOT mean f@cking without a condom... gawd!

@missy... I'm fully aware of the risks of having intercourse with complete strangers... I was merely pointing out to cowboy how wrong he was about the "promiscuous" consciously swapping bodily fluids on a regular basis. There was no need to come to his defense on this subject by posting thesaurus... But by posting it, you proved my point... nothing in there about UNprotected sex!

One night stands are too quick.
Always seemed like leaving a job half done.
When I get together with someone, I want both of us to be
totally satisfied...and spent.
That's how I work
That's how I ****.smile2

So there it is.

@John, I understand that Promiscuity does not necessarily mean that condoms are not used but it also does not mean that they're always used by men with women when either choose to have one-night stands. Sorry if what I posted disturbed you so much, but ohwell

I agree with this, each to their own, not for me but who am I to judge.

Believe it or not .. It is not unheard of for a woman to carry condoms and insist that they are used . We are not living in the dark ages

Yes, Blondey I'm aware of that also. whoa There is just no guarantee that they will work properly or even that they will always be used or that they remain intact during use.

I think it's absurd the way this has gone. Let the Holy Rollers have their sexless lives, until they find their monogamous partners. Those of us that have been at last call, or say maybe just wanting to bounce out a rebound lay and use protection will do so.

Call me crass, uncouth or the what not, but it was about opinion, and not who is right or wrong.

personally I do not leave my house
. to go out with my friends..
hoping I can meet someone to have a one night stand with. but oddly enough.. I always make sure I have condoms.. on me or in my vehicle.
. now the few times I have had.
. well OK.. more than a few times..
and this is only before I was married.
and after my separation... spent a enjoyable evening.. with a newly met lady.. it has always been with somebody.. I have connected with..
. and the sex I find.. seems to be very intense.. there is something about. knowing you will never see this person again.. that frees you up.
. to try things do things.. that you may otherwise.. not be willing to try.
with somebody you're going to spend time with.. let your freak out so to speak.... now if you have never had a one night stand.. this may seem foreign to you.. it has nothing to do with... love.. are wanting a relationship.... it is purely animalistic..
. I want you you want me.. and I am NOT talking about.. picking up the bar regular.. No.. just to human beings.. brought together at the right time at the right place.. just needing to.. enjoy another human being..
and have them enjoy you...
every relationship.. has a one night stand in.. It the first time you sleep with that person.. could potentially be the last time..
... you hear about it all the time..
I spent weeks getting to know him or her.. we slept together.. and now I don't hear from them again...
. this is just my opinion.. my personal opinion... and yes I have had one night stands.. proud of it.. does not make a person morally corrupt..
it makes you a human being.. now does this mean I would go out and rob a bank.. just because I wanted to..
of course not.. but there is absolutely nothing wrong.. with two people coming together.. and sharing a loving tender memory and moment together... it happens all the time..
its probably happening right now..lmao

.

I figure if a guy only wants a one night stand with no emotions involved, he better be pretty darn hot with a ripped body. Otherwise there is no point.

Folks, I just reviewed the previous posts in this thread, and I noticed something in particular.

Nobody here who claims to adhere to a particular faith has cited that faith as a reason for being opposed to one-night stands.

The topic of "religion" was originally injected by members who are either agnostic or opposed to faiths.

Site members who adhere to a faith have been making non-religious arguments against one-night stands.

Anyway, continue on. The chips will fall wherever they may.
