if you're looking for a play mate... no, age doesn't matter, but if you're looking for a life long pardner then yes age absolutly does matter...can i keep up with a 25 year old? maybe for a week or so, after that the relationship goes in the trash bin. What common interests would she and I have? Very few if any.

for myself
age makes a difference
I have dated younger and older
and I feel if someone is closer to my age we would have more in common

then again some guys my age are trying to recapture their youth and want a 20 somethinghuh

so any age it can be hard to make that connection:smile:

Well my gf is 26 and i'm 37 so age don't matter to me that much. The funny thing is, alot of the time I seem to find younger women that are more muture the women my age.

I would rather spend a few short years with a man that I believed to be a soulmate, than 25 with one that did not quite measure up to that. My bestfriend is 64 this year...and I cannot keep up with her...she runs circles around me. I also could still fall in love with a 37 yr old that is confined to a wheelchair...it is the man inside the wheelchairhappy anyway, almost everywhere is wheelchair accessible nowadayslaugh

I'd like to date in my age range (35-45 yrs). It just seems that many that age are in relationships or are so difficult to win over that it becomes exausting...They want to do a background check, Family history, Full medical exam and credit check before they actually talk to you..laugh laugh .....It's just easier to date women under 35. Not all the time but more often than not.

There was 10 1/2 years between my Mom's parent's and they were married almost 49 years when Grandpa passed away. But to me, atleast 10 years is a good age difference if there is truly a connection. My Grandparents were a perfect example of that. They were married when he was 36 and she was 24

see im 18 and i feel that i am very mature for my age as ive had to go through a whole bunch of events in my life..... but as it may be easily understood people make age requirements regarding me usually not me making an age limit.... so i guess age really doesnt matter all that much for me granted that i wont date someone 10 years older than me but id date someone 18-23 range... cuz i mean im going to be done with college in 2.5 years and i feel that ive got a career planned out for me

I've always dated within two years my senior.
The older I get the more I'm considering dating younger because a lot of men my age have no energy, don't want to go out anymore and are just content to sit on a couch watching a movie.

This is the main reason why I'd date younger. Now how young is the question. Id say for me between 30 and 40ish. Some people say I'm robbing the cradle. Oh well.

Now, if I could only find a younger man who is mature, financially stable and knows how to treat a woman I'd be all set.laugh

So, what many of us are saying is that we've closed our minds to people because of age, have we also closed our minds to people of different colors, religions, nationalities? At 38, I have more energy now than I did when I was 28, but I'm fairly mature and tend to look at life like I'm 48, so who do I date? Anyone I find interesting to see if there is anything more to be had in the future.

I recently went out with a lady several years older than me and had a blast. She was fun, could communicate, had real emotions was settled, a very good date. I also recently went out with a lady more than 10 years younger and she was fun, had wild eyed dreams, felt like she could accomplish anything and her mind was open to tomorrow instead of focused on yesterday. Again a very good date.

Now, nothing may come from either date and if doesn't it doesn't, but if I had an age limit, let's say 5 years either way, I wouldn't have met either one of them and wouldn't have learned that age really is just a number, it's chemistry that matters. Just a thought.

Age is not entirely irrelevant. I have a self imposed rule of no more than a 5 year gap between my age and the age of my girl, because I would like to increase the chance that when one of us dies, the other won't have to suffer for too long.

This isn't a great plan as there are so many problems with it, but that is my view on the subject of age and relationships.

Of course if I truly love the person, my age rule is null and void.

age can matter in certain situations. but if you want to be with that person bad enough. how long they have lived on this earth will just be another number and will not have any foothold on your relationship.
